BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- A group of law schools, professors and students is suing the Department of Defense, alleging its requirement that law schools allow military recruiters on campus violates the First Amendment.

Many universities have barred recruiters, arguing the military's ban on homosexuals violated nondiscrimination rules.

Our military recruiters are not allowed on campus? Then our tax dollars should not be allowed on campus!

It's a toss up between San Francisco and Boston... They're anus lovers who've become terrorist like and will stop at nothing to enforce their homo agendas on everyone.

Hey, thanks for posting such a hilarious press release.

I know that it was not released specifically to the press, but a publicity document it is.

I can summarize it's sentiments as, "waaaaah!"

I suppose this is a stupid question but, why would the military want to recruit anyone from these colleges? Isn't that like recruiting in a hostile foreign country? What's the point? Sigh.

A very good question... I don't imagine the kind of stuff that real men are made of even exist in these damn schools and only serve to further dilute and weaken our military services.

Based on personal experience, law schools, even Ivy League ones, have a student body this is no more and no less conservative than the nation as a whole. The faculty , now that's another matter...

That is a bit presumptious. I know many people at Columbia and NYU who would make fine officers.

Probably so, but that's my knee jerk reaction to these so-called institutions of higher learning and their hate America message.

I firmly believe that the constitution, if put together today by the same men that crafted the original, would establish education and not religion as the segment of american life that the government cannot intrude upon.

The law "was passed to send the message that academic institutions were being too liberal," Greenfield told The Boston Globe. "They are using this law to reach into the core of our educational philosophy and change it, and that's contrary to the First Amendment."

Someone needs to tell the Professor or Attorney or Emperor or whatever he thinks he is; so long as my tax money pays for anything on campus he can't say NO to the military on campus. If He's so gosh-dang smart/rich then why does not he and his socialist cowardly buddies start a university with their own money? When he pays for everything out of his pocket then he can say no. So long as my tax dollars pay any part of his schools existence he can't say no.

You suggested "moving into my district." In the final two weeks before the election (both primary and general) I am going to ask a couple dozen people who are smart and energetic to move into the district and work on the campaign, expenses paid of course.

Meantime, all possible help by e-mail and by small contributions ($10 and up) are deeply appreciated. Click on my website. Thanks.

Actually, I think the American people ought to begin suing the schools for not providing an ideological diversity. They are only providing half an education, charging full price, and being supplimented by taxpayer money. In other words, anyone not a flaming liberal is NOT represented.

Here's the URL.

There's also a long discussion thread on "We Are Running for Congress -- Maybe" posted three weeks ago, still live.

Thank you for your interest. Look forward to hearing from you.

If the schools are that anti-military and seeking grants for ANY KIND of research, I would be very suspect of the "research" they would be doing and it's overall success.

Unless this lawsuit ends up in the Ninth Jerk-it Court of Schlemiels, it doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding. No sane court in the land is going to try to dictate how the executive and legislative branches appropriate federal funds. It would get smacked down by the Supremes faster than you could blink.

It makes me sick to witness so many enemies of our Country within.

I will bet that allah would not have much use for these Professors and their little proteges if the Muslims were in control.

We are in the greatest war in the history of this Country.

It is scary indeed to read this stuff.

I've been working for a quarter century with a group of state legislators who want an Unfunded Mandate Amendment to the US Constitution. That would keep the US Congress from creating programs that are forced on the states, and for which the states MUST raise the taxes without ever voting on the program itself.

As for attaching conditions to funding, it does NOT violate the 10th Amendment. States do the same to cities. Governments at all levels do it with private organizations they do business with, or give grants to. It's as American as apple pie.

As for the 10th Amendment, it was gutshot by the Supreme Court in the Garcia case, and needs to be re-established by getting better Justices on the Court.

Does that cover the waterfront?
