Who do you want for the new captain, the liner's first mate, or someone off a two person rowboat?

Ahhhh.......Excellent analogy, Steve!

If the captain was so grossly incompetent that he piled the ship up on rocks, I sure as hell don't want his loyal "first mate" (who agreed with his every decision) taking over.

Thanks for setting this one up for me.

" Cut the "strongarm" garbage. It sounds cute but I can't make you or anyone else do anything.

If you can't best someone discussing the issues, call them names. Tactics of a scoundrel. I'll post as I please, thank you. And the point of that comment was to illuminate your tactics, which try to force the voters into Arnie's camp. Yes, those are strongarming tactics.

"in a race like this in a Democratic state he does not have a chance. The numbers speak for themselves."

All California voters have the option of voting for McClintock, because he is on the ballot. You can say that there is no choice all day long if you wish, but the choice remains, in black and white on the ballot.

Again, your statements reflect a self-fulfilling prophecy. People have said the same thing about conservatives all throughout history, which is why I really don't give you much credence to your observations.

Your reliance upon numbers without any specifics, also do not persuade me. You do realize the inherent problems with polling data, population data, and so forth?

"I'm simply saying that if the choice is someone like Arnold or any Democrat I say the Republican is the best bet."

That ain't necessarily so, as I've posted before.

"Your "vitrol" comment is more garbage. The only horse I have in this race is the clout the gov. of CA has in the upcoming presidential election. I don't dislike McClintock, I never met him. I've seen him on TV and he comes of badly. He is not telegenic and is not someone likeable."

*shrugs* My vitriol comment is dead on. You say you don't dislike McC and then you say that he is not someone likable. Aside from the logical flaw of that statement, it reveals your attitude.

"And Bustamente will get elected if McClintock stays in the race. You might not like that but that's the way it is. To consider otherwise is just foolish."

Anyone who disagrees with you is foolish? More ad hominems and "It's my way or the highway" type posts, and the crystal ball argument "Candidate X will win because I say so." None of these work, just so you know. Keep trying.

There you go. Wanting to kick a lifetime (as long as he's been in America, and definitely since he became a citizen) Republican out of the party.

Too bad.

I just don't hear that in his conviction when he speaks about the burden we are all bearing.

You have not only given up determining the issues and the answers to the issues to the left, but now you advocate allowing them to determine who we should vote for. Simply amazing. I find the prospect of sitting around and watching TV shows that few people watch to see if Democrats support my candidate so that I can change my vote ludicrous.

Arnold will gone before reaportionment, even if he breaks his promise and runs for another term. Try again And your basis for saying this is........

Well for starters reapportionment will be after the 2010 census (winter 2011). So if he breaks his promise and runs for a second term he will be out by then.

Liar? Puke? Me think you protests too much.

Anyone taking an objective look at the loser saw him for just what he was...a loser.

Your attack on me won't change that.

Puke? LMAO!! I must have hit a nerve.

If Arnold doesn't represent the CA GOP "blowing it", I don't know what does.

You're assuming these are all GOP voters that are voting for Arnold. They aren't.

So you support my contention that Arnold's core constituency is Democrats?

I don't want to kick him out of the party, I just don't want to make our standard bearer someone who disagrees with our platform on most issues.

I suppose there are followers of Mao tse Tung who have been registered Republicans for years. I guess that's OK, as long as they don't try to re-write the definition of what it means to be a Republican.

Hardly. I'm right here in Florida with you, darlin'.

This is much more like me telling my dem relations to vote for Janet Reno in the primary last year - because I wanted to see Jeb knock her flat on her butt.
That's what the dems are using Tom for - they know he'll be easier to beat. They'll kick him flat once he's no more use to them.

And that's just fine with you.

What point is there for a conservative to back him?

Not having a racist demoncrat leading the state for 3+ years which is what voting for Tom will produce! Just ask big chief Goodfeathers!

I'm really tempted to recommend Californians vote NO on the recall. This is stupid. I'd rather see Davis come out a damaged winner than see Bustamante elected and the GOP disgraced again.

I have not called you any names or made any personal attacks. Yet you've called me a "scoundrel". Why? Because I don't agree that McClintock has a chance? No big deal. I'm not as thin skinned as you seem to be since you seem to be taking my comments about the candidate McClintock as some personal view on you.

How many political campaigns have you worked on? The stuff I've posted as views about McClintock pale compared to what the Dem. political operatives must be saying about McClintock. Do you realize that the Demorats are laughing their a$$es off as they watch McClintock pull votes off the only Republican that can win?

Tell you what, I'll make you a bet. I'll bet you $250 payable to FreeRepublic that McClintock loses.
