Governor goes back to Lowe's Motor Speedway to raise money10:22 PM EDT on Saturday, September 20, 2003
Associated PressRALEIGH, N.C. -- North Carolina Governor Mike Easley is hoping to raise some fast cash at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord next month.
The governor is holding a $1,000-a-person fund-raiser October ninth at the same track where he crashed into a wall at 120 miles per hour during a charity event in May.
Easley, a Democrat seeking re-election next year, wasn't injured in the crash.
The invitations to the event, dubbed the "Mike Easley 400," features a ticket with photographs of Easley behind the wheel and in a racing uniform.
Easley writes in the invitation that for everyone's safety the first lady will be there to ensure that he doesn't get behind the wheel.
Organizers say they expect at least 200 people to attend.
GAG!!!
Get this, 21 TV's, up from 17 three weeks ago. Every football game that is live and of course racing.
If you have a betting account in an offshore, you can watch every game that is live and still keep up with your favoriate driver.
Add to this, $15 (up from $12.......the owner was losing money on the food) for all the shrimp and ribs you can eat. They also pull the plug out of the wall for the stupid juke box.
They will serve any domestic bottled or canned beer that you pre-order for $2.00 a pop. Very fair.
You can even get 6 White Castle Burgers and French Fries for $6.
Bring on the Iron City Beer.
This is Heaven I Tell YA.

"I'm still confused," Gordon continued. "I heard everybody talking as they left the driver's meeting, trying to figure out who, exactly, is getting their laps back."
Winston Cup director John Darby explained the rule, as such: "Everyone needs to understand it's the highest scored position, not on the lead lap. It won't be the car closest to the leader. In other words, if there's 21 cars on the lead lap, the competitor that will be affected by receiving that lap back will be the 22nd (driver) on the scoreboard

Its going to be interisting to listen to the announcers try and explain just what happened. Also, the running positions on the rolling screen are gonna be screwed up.
Single file into the pitts is also gonna be good.
Ya gotta love it.
Yeah, that's good. If we're going to go there I like the one where the camera has close-ups on the four women's lips from four racing divisions as they're kissing the winner (showing Dale Jr getting one). Those babes are hot! :^)
I also love all the Napa/Bud commercials. As long as they are not every 5 minutes!!!
True. lol
