There's just something fishy about a poll that shows up almost two weeks later, that shows a fifty fifty split amongst a group where another poll (realeased in a timely manner) showed an 18/82 split with 33 of 34 county chairmen going against Tom.
I have zero confidence in this poll. I can see that it is achieving the disired results in the target group though. A glimmer of false hope and their sucked in for the next seven days until another equally bogus miracle will suck them in for another seven days. On election day it's be crystal clear they were being duped all along, but nobody can tell them anything now.

...Look, we all admire a man standing on principle...
Tom McClintock is NOT standing on principle in the sense most of us mean. Mirriam-Websters dictionary defines "principle" as a comprehensive and fundamental rule, doctrine, or assumption (as in "the principle of free speech"). McClinton (a Freudian slip I'm leaving in) is not standing on fundamental rules, or a fundamental doctrine, but his own fundamental assumption that he, and only he, has the correct answers to California's problems.
Worse, he has made it crystal clear over the last month that his political enemy is not the Leftist Governor whom the recall was intended to unseat, nor the Leftist Lt. Governor who is presently the front runner in the race to replace Davis. No, McClintock's enemy is a member of his own political party and he is going out of his way to sow deep divisions within that party.
That makes McClintock a true demagogue a leader who makes use of popular prejudices, and false claims and promises in order to gain power.
Over the past year, his ego has received a huge jolt of limelight, and he is really getting off on it. He is a relatively unknown member of the minority party in a state legislature who has suddenly been catapulted to the national spotlight, and he is most thoroughly enjoying his 15 minutes. Tom McClintock is what and who matters above all else to Tom McClintock and he doesn't care who he has to use or climb over to claw his way to the top.

"I doubt Arnold would win even if McC were not in the race." B.S. Denial is a river in Egypt for you as well I guess? LOL
NO, McClintock is acting as an enemy of the Republican party at this point and Arnold is a lock without McClintock, especially if he suggested his folks vote for Arnold as he withdrew.
As a matter of fact, at this point, the only possible future Tom can salvage in the Republican party is if he soon drops out and IN ADDITION backs Arnold and campaigns for him. Otherwise his future in California Politics is about as bright as Gary Condit's! LOL Tom has become an ego driven joke.

I keep asking myself how they'd feel if Arnold would have gone to Cruz and asked him to help submarine Tom. There are some pretty obvious critical thinking skills missing here. Any connection to reality mustn't be allowed to interrupt the dilusion.

There will be a Republican primary in '06. What is it with you McClintock supporters that you can't comprehend the difference between this recall election and a primary election?

Tom Mclintock is through, you are correct. Only a few marginalized conservatives who overlook his ethics problems will be defending him.

But this situation, where one small segment of the population (Indian tribes) gets a blank check to do what they wish, and everyone else doesn't...it's got to end, one way or another.

So to correct that, you are supporting a Hollywood Liberal that would give amnesty to Illegal Aliens and offer them all kinds of free social services?
Clear as mud.

I am in full agreement with your comments. Futher I have no understanding whatsoever what would lead anyone to not understand and agree with what you have written here. 2+2=4 McClintock can't win = Must support Schwarzenegger
It's the simplest of math to me.

You won't have to cross over. There will be a Republican primary in '06. One HUGE problem with McClintock's tactics in this recall is that he's running as though he were in a closed primary rather than in an open, winner-take-all election. I would have no problem with him if he just stuck to the issues he believes in. But that is not what he's been doing over the past month. Rather, he's been running very hard and very nastily against Arnold Schwarzenegger, while giving Cruz Bustamante a complete pass. If one doesn't believe McClintock is stupid, then one must believe he is deliberately trying to sabotage Republican chances of winning this election. Either way, his actions mark him as one who is not qualified to be governor.

But the tribal gaming contributions don't require one to be intelligent to see the intent--only honest.

Wonder what used car lot or telemarketer he plans to work for after that happens?
Yeah, especially since he's a professional politician who hasn't done squat in the private sector his entire adult life. What he'd probably do is become a lobbyist if he can learn to bend his "principles" for his clients, that is.

Let me drive you back to the issue.
You want conservatives to vote for a liberal.
We ask you, "Why?"
Your answers consist of insults, derogatory remarks, and ridicule. You also run down the only conservative on the ballot. If Arnold loses, he loses because he's a liberal, not because of those "stupid conservatives".

Go bait someone else into your little bait and snitch
session. Note to anyone else reading this, #90 was the first personal attack.
Arnold said in his interview with O'rielly that he would not advocate sending Illegals home that were already here.
And if that is the case, they sure as hell aren't getting anywhere with out Social services.
Your opology is accepted in advance.

That's not granting amnesty. Thank you for playing.
Your admission to being a despicable piece of filth is accepted in advance.

Any connection to reality mustn't be allowed to interrupt the dilusion. That is the truth! This is just beyond bizarre to watch them spin McC's signing on with Cruz against Arnold. This forum would have exploded if Arnold had done the same thing and I can guarantee you that I would have been out there calling for people to vote for McC if the situations were reversed. I would not have continued to support Arnold if he had tag teamed with Cruz.
Now we have McC throwing in with Cruz and the spin is flying from the McC folks. Guess we were all right when we said Arnold supporters would support McC if Arnold dropped out but some McC supporters would never support Arnold. Says more about McC supporters on here then it does about Arnold IMO.

Partner, I'm not going to waste my time explaining why Schwarzenegger is better than Cruz. If you haven't the tools to figure that out on your own, you're not traveling in my circle and I'm not going to spoon feed you.
I appreciate the attempt at communication, but I'm going to do us both a favor and cut it off here.
