Aren't you glad your money has gone to such good use? I think its time to start cutting the cords. Poor stewardship should be rewarded accordingly.

You know, I voted for that so that the native Americans would have an income stream. It'll come up again. When it does they're going to be without. When they start buying elections and tampering, it's over.Unless, of course, the tribal-gaming-bought-and-paid-for Secretary of State refuses to certify the petitions.

is protesting have the candidates get questions in advance rather than have a real debate. That's not compromising any conservative positions. Except that Arnold came out against having the answers in advance two weeks ago and he had Drier contact the people running the debate. McNader joining with Schwartzeneggers only real competition (Bustamante) are threatening to boycott this debate for the same reason that Arnold criticized it weeks ago. Is McNader afraid to debate? Cluck, cluck? Especially now he might have to explain why his bragged about surge in the polls has not occured and the election is just a few weeks away.

Yeah, well I don't doubt much these days.

He reminds me more & more of McCain. He can't let go of his new feeling of power & fame even though he gets it at great cost to his party. In the past could he possibly even begin to imagine almost nightly being on CNN,Fox, CNBC, MSBCS, the networks, plus the subject of numerous columns in major newspapers, the topic of debate on many panels, radio programs, internet forums, polls everywhere, etc? It's an overwhelming experience to a guy who spent 20+ years with minimal success in state government. And it now seems unlikely he can look past the euphoria of fame and "importance" to see reality, to see the future, and to let it all go. Unfortunately.

Except that now you're making no sense.
If McClintock has indeed pulled ahead of Schwarzenegger, his primary appeal to conservatives "he can win" is gone.
So, if McClintock has polling numbers better than Arnold's, why will you not support McClintock?
Because he accepted money *from* a traditional Democratic organization rather than giving money *to* them as Schwarzenegger has done?

Arnold is loosing ground fast, and McClintock has pulled ahead. The straw pole at the calif Republican Convention puts Tom 1.5 % ahead of Arnold. How's it feel to be Loosing? You suffering from battlefield fatigue? Arnold won 80% of the straw poll. What a joke you McClint-farts are.

"He (TOM McCLINTOCK) has claimed that a Democrat victory in the recall election would be desirable, as it would better his chances in 2006." BOOKMARK THIS QUOTE FOR ANY FUTURE TOM McCLINTOCK ASPIRATIONS FOR ANY FUTURE OFFICE, HE'S TOAST. No it would not, nobody gives an F about his career over the people in general and we would all know a traitor when we see one. He has become a form of Jim Jeffords in this race. I see his career as over if he gets Cruz elected. It might be over anyway after this huge display of bad judgment.
Tom is showing he is an unfit leader IMO with what he has been doing.
Why would anyone want an ego driven candidate who puts their own good ahead of the people in power? We can't utilize Tom after this election except for a ranter on some low rated cable gab show.

Tom McClintock is going to jump ship and attempt to become an Independent in the future IMO. He's doing too much damage in the CA Republican Party to remain long term.

So, if McClintock has polling numbers better than Arnold's, why will you not support McClintock? McClint-fart is still far behind Arnold unless you are the recipient of some super secret poll conducted by the McNader campaign. Quit dreaming. McC is still way behind and collapsing, not surging. Bustamante is looking bad too but he still leads McNader.

If McClintock has indeed pulled ahead of Schwarzenegger, his primary appeal to conservatives "he can win" is gone.Big "if."
LtKerst is claiming that McClintock won some straw poll at the convention--the only straw poll I heard about, Schwarzenegger got 82% of the vote.
So, if McClintock has polling numbers better than Arnold's, why will you not support McClintock?
Like I said, that's a BIG if, not backed by any data.
Even the tainted LA Times poll y'all keep hyping didn't put McClintock in the lead.
And McClintock's latest antics put him firmly in the enemy's camp. He's making it much harder for principled persons to actually vote for him on 10/07/03. If he does (miraculously) win, he will be beholden to the tribal gaming interests to stay in office in 2006. What will he give them?

The Indians are smarter than McClintock's supporters-- they know what they are doing.

I stayed off the big thread last night. All I have to say about this is that this is remarkably similar to the Perot strategy in 1992, and for the life of me I cannot understand how people who support McClintock don't see it.
I originally thought that McClintock was simply in this race because of his principles, but it seems to me that petty revenge may be more of a motive. In the process, he is aligning himself with the other side.
This isn't being principled. This is more like sweeping the chess pieces onto the floor when it looks like your opponent might win.

"On the contrary, his strategy for keeping Arnold out and positioning himself for 2006 shows immense political competence and savvy". It shows immense ego and no ethics in the damage he causes California and the people with his behavior. People are not so dumb as to vote again for a saboteur and Democrat enabler.
We are being told he is sabotaging the race on purpose, we know it and that is savvy? LOL ROTFALMAO!!!!
He is going to be black listed by any good Conservative who doesn't like Republicans getting Democrats elected on purpose. That is downright Libertarian/Liberal in action!
Tombots are going to be more and more marginalized by this candidate in the future. Tom McClintock will forever after this be a loser for all but at most 10% of the vote.
You and McClintock are getting radical Democrats elected...GREAT PLAN SHERLOCK! LOL

Isn't it strange out McC supporters can turn a 18% in a straw poll in the convention into a win?
These folks are spinning like Clintonites which leads me to believe that some of what we are seeing on here is a dryrun from the DemocRATs for the 2004 election. Hard to believe this many Freepers that support McC can be this dense about McC and continue to spin and outright lie on occasion.
Know that some are actually McC supporters, but how many are disruptors with screen names none of us recognize from the past?

Thank you, traditionalist, for sacrificing all of us Californians with this brilliant political strategy.
By your reasoning, we should all be supporting Howard Dean for president, because after he taxes all the money out of our bank-accounts, socializes medicine, destroys the economy, opens the borders, runs foreign policy based on what the UN and French dictate to us and allows a few of our cities to be nuked, the American people will finally be ready for a true leader like Pat Buchanan.
Pure genius.
