As we all know, the left has been incessant in their claims that Bush is Hitler, or becoming Hitler, or a fascist, or some other insanity.

I invite you to consider the following picture;

If you look closely, you can see the man Rummy is meeting with is named von Kleist. So who is this person, and what does he have to do with my theme here?

During World War Two, Lt. Ewald Heinrich von Kleist was an officer in the German Army, He was more importantly a central member of the conspiracy to kill Hitler. In 1944 he volunteered for a suicide mission to kill Hitler personally, but the plan failed because of a change in Hitler's schedule that day.

Von Kleist was also involved in the famed Wolfs Lair coup/assassination attempt later that year. He was the only member of that group to survive the war.

This is a man that who knows what fascism is. This is a man willing to kill Hitler personally. And this is a man shaking Donald Rumsfeld's hand at a conference he originated.

In a truly Orwellian fashion the Left has turned what Hitler was upside down to try and force their ideological opponents into that model. So those who expose an ideology antithetical to fascism are now labeled fascists. Those who have freed whole peoples from dictatorial rule are labeled tyrants. So, the next time one of these revisionists makes such a claim, ask them to explain this picture.

Perhaps, being faced with the truth may actually lead some of those drunk on leftist propaganda to think for a minute, and even return to rationality. Perhas not. But one thing that is certain is that nothing is so bad for a democratic society as a lie allowed to remain unanswered.

Perhaps pigs will sprout wings. The path to the light is long and difficult, and although I have personally made the journey, I must sadly conclude that many others are incapable of it.

To the left, the "truth" is any statement that promotes their agenda, and a "lie" is any statement that stands in the way of their agenda. Therefore, conservatives always lie and socialists always tell the truth.

Very interesting post. There were actually (I believe) 2 von Kleist's who tried to kill Hitler in 1944. Paul von Kleist was a heavy hitter in the 3rd Reich, and was executed later on. It appears that your Ewald von Kleist is also documented HERE.

If anyone wants to read a fascinating book that covers aspects of this assasination, may I suggest Piercing the Reich by Joseph E. Persico. It was written in the late 1970's and contains first account eye-witness reports of the events surrounding espionage. One of the interviewees was William Casey--then an Army Intelligence Officer.

Also, it is typical for an evil political party to foist their sins and treachery upon anyone who opposes them. The NAZIs attributed lies, propaganda, and murder as crimes of their opponents. The Democrats, Socialists, and Communists operate the same way.

The amazing thing today is that whenever you read about the censorship of dissent, be it in the forms of the "fairness doctrine" to kill talk radio, burning Conservative newspapers at Brown University, or the shutting down of bible studies at workplaces, it is always the work of the political Left.
