I'm appalled, just appalled. Yet also strangely excited. I was flipping through the Internet looking for something interesting to write about this week and came across the results of quiz given to 18-24 year old Americans last November. The quiz asked these American youth relatively basic questions concerning geography. Where is Iraq on a map? Where is the United States? Where is New York? You get the idea. As it turns out, my peers didn't perform too terribly well. As a matter of fact, their efforts could only be characterized as pathetic. Let's take a look at some of the data and figure out what it means for all of us.

87% of them couldn't find Iraq. Well, that's not so bad, I guess. The quiz was administered in late 2002, so it was before the real media frenzy surrounding Iraq began. Consequently, the young adults taking the quiz didn't have the benefit of receiving the tutelage of 24-hour news coverage and the corresponding high-tech mini-maps of the Middle East. No doubt, their score would be much higher now. We can forgive them for this one. Read the rest...

You are so right, it does sometimes take a minority to lead the many to the truth.

Like when 69% of the public believes that Saddam Hussein participated in 9/11, the challenge for the other 31% of us is how to get the bird droppings off your windshield.

"Great satirical piece. A bit racy, but funny nevertheless."

How so, satire? This is really a Greek tragedy because it is the truth. If you think "Dumb and Dumber" is only a movie then think again.

Just watch any episode of Leno's "Jaywalking" to determine how stupid you fellow citizens are.

Really, you need to listen to something more than official pronouncements! Between W and Condi (sorry, so unPC of me, Ms. Rice!) and Rummy, no one is guarding Cheney's back these days. No wonder he's spending so little time outside his undisclosed location. No wonder I thought, when seeing him on Meet the Press, the boy needs a little more sun.

Nice and quick. Even, dare I say it, admirable.

But even better would be if you would explain why Rummy, Condi and Mr. Ol' Greenwich himself are running from Cheney as if he'd let one on the subway.

That was Powell's retort to a smartass reporter saying the same thing "what about the 85% of Americans that cant find Iraq?"

Powell said: "None of them are Marines"

Also reminds me of OReilly tonight ... he was on with a 'human shield' moron who may get fined now for his breaking the Iraq sanctions laws. Good - he gave aid and comfort to saddam.

He insisted he did it to see Iraqis in person.
OReilly said "You should have joined the army. You get to see the Iraqis in person and help your country."

LOL.......Yeah Powell stole the phrase from me..........(thats my lie and I'm stickin to it) ........:o)

As to aid and comfort to the enemy. These POS Socialists need an ass whoopin versus face time with the presstitutes when they are encountered. Or at the very least a free ride out of town on the business end of a D9 dozer blade.

Stay Safe !

Look, newbie, if you don't know what you're talking about, you'd best refrain from posting on FR.

No one, NO ONE, least of all Rummy,Coni, and President Bush, who, unlike his father,is NOT from Greenwich, Conn. ( W was born in New Haven, whilst his father was going to Yale and moved, with his family, as a tiny child, to TEXAS , where is was raised, went to grammar school, and returned to, after undergrad and graduate school, to live, work, marry, and raise ehis own family )are leaving Chenney hanging out to dry. Getting your info from DU/the N.Y. Times/etc., or just feeding off your own delusional hallucinations ?

This kind of tripe doesn't fly here. State facts, or don't post. Erronious piffle, will get shot down immediately and you just prove what a fool you are, by posting drivel.
