I had recently seen Jimmy Carter proudly announcing that he would have been re-elected if the Iran hostages had been brought home. Of course we all know that Reagan was the one who brought these American hostages home from Iran.

Does anyone think Carter would have been re-elected had he been instrumental in bringing the hostages home?

That was truly the worst economy in the last 70 years. Hostages or not, that guy was never going to be re-elected.
