U.S. Holding Six Americans, Two Britons in Iraq
The Associated Press
Published: Sep 16, 2003 ABU GHRAIB, Iraq (AP) - The United States is holding in Iraq six prisoners who claim to be Americans and two who say they are Britons, the general in charge of detention centers said Tuesday. Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, commander of the 800th Military Police Brigade, said the eight were considered security detainees - those who attacked or helped carry out attacks against coalition troops - and were being interrogated by military intelligence.
Karpinski said they are being held at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison, 12 miles west of Baghdad, one of the most potent symbols of Saddam Hussein's regime.
She would not provide further details.
It was the first time the U.S. military has acknowledged the detention of Westerners in connection with attacks on American troops in Iraq.

I don't want them shot straightaway. I want them to squeeze every drop of information out of them first. THEN I want a military tribunal and firing squad.

Good. I am interested on his statement on this.

I hope Fox is going to cover it. Linda Vester doing her Oprah/Donahue bit is not as important as this.
HERE WE GO!

"Fox said Rummy would have a news conference about this shortly.'I have been watching MSNBC online Pentagon Briefing.
All Rumsfeld said is he read the article on it and he doesn't know anything about it.

You and I see eye to eye, Grampa. I am suspicious of all
who are Muslin, Democrats, peacenicks and many others. Fortunately I am rational and can sort them out correctly, as can you, my friend.

(I agree with Dick Morris. Off with their heads! Let's start with the Clintons, all three of them.)
To: wingnuts'nbolts
Since 9/11 it has become easier to sort them my friend.
In fact since the Iraq major war victory, it is even easier to sort them out.

I don't know who these guys are, but I don't envy their future.

They will say they were confused. They were trying to find themselves.

That news is a bit misleading, though...chances are these dickweeds aren't "westerners", just guys of Iraqi or other Arab descent who for one reason or another figure they have a claim to US citizenship. It's a big world, lots of weird things happen. Like the first "German" POWs our soldiers captured in Normandy on 6/6/44 turning out to actually be KOREAN (and what a story it was how THEY got there). So, my guess is they were taken prisoner and NOW claim citizenship, figuring it will get them better treatment, which in our over-lawyered society, I'm sad to say, it probably will.

Squeeze as much intel from them, try them for treason, then execute them afterwards.

OK-I give. I tried a google search for Koreans taken as German POWS at Normandy and I found nothing. Tell the story.

I'll make it a public reply since others might want to know the tale as well. In 1939 Korea was a Japanese posession, and Koreans were drafted (usually as laborers and camp guards) into the Imperial Army. Well, in '39 a few of these unfortunates got captured at Nomonhan, the big battle of the Soviet-Japanese war of that year that most westerners are still unfamiliar with (or even unaware of completely). So as POWs they get shipped by the Reds back west to the European USSR, where they are stuck as POW labor. Fast forward to 1941, when the rapidly advancing German army captures them once again. After Pearl Harbor, the German Army gives these Koreans a "choice": stay as POWs or join the Wehrmacht (as subjects of an Axis ally they at least got this dilemma). They chose the latter, and so it was that manning one of the pillboxes (on Utah Beach, I believe) was a squad of Koreans wearing German uniforms. The GIs who captured that position must have been rather surprised...

...who attacked or helped carry out attacks against coalition troops...
An American who wages war against the forces of the United States meets the Constitutional requirement to be charged with treason.

The muslim immigration thing is really working out well, isn't it?
