LANCASTER, Ohio -- Two men who tried to pass as students at an Ohio high school were jailed on charges including disorderly conduct, trespassing and inducing panic.
Lancaster High School was evacuated for about an hour as a result of the prank Thursday morning by Nathan Shahan, 20, and Anthony Bobo, 21.
Shahan and Bobo went to the school posing as students, to see if anyone would notice they didn't belong, police said.
A teacher stopped Shahan as he tried to enter the school, and the two got into a scuffle, said Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen said. Sheriff's deputies found Bobo inside the school at 7:45 a.m.
Bobo was charged with a felony count of inducing panic for being inside the school. He also was charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and violating probation.
Shahan was charged with a felony count of parole violation and misdemeanor counts of assault and underage alcohol consumption.
Bond was set at $50,000 each, and both remained in jail Friday.

That almost happened to me. When I was 17, and went back to my high school to try and re-enroll, my vice-principal told me, "If you don't get out of here, I'm going to have you arrested!"

Maybe they dropped out, and were just trying to earn a degree.

The irony is that these guys probably did their best trying to skip school when they were supposed to be there. Pulling a stunt like this tells me that that they didn't graduate and are not very employed.

I mean do they want to be 15 all over again? They must be the losers Cordy Chase looked down upon back in high school, LOL!

The fact that they didn't immediately turn around and leave, when caught, says their going there "to see if anyone would notice" is a complete and total lie.

Except for the sex, drugs and rock-n-roll, high school pretty much ****** for me. Why on earth would anyone want to go back there?

Heh, heh. When I was still 18, I tried to visit my old high school to pick up some friends a year behind me after a dance. I was coraled into helping them clean up the gym before we could do anything fun. I was intercepted and kicked off school grounds by a teacher who was new to the school and didn't recognize me.
While I stewed about being treated so poorly, I was comforted by the notion that I was obviously recognized as being too old for high school. When my friends came out, they told me another local high school had threatened to trash the dance. A bit of a blow to my ego to realize I hadn't been recognized for my advanced age after all.

Actually I went back to my high school a couple of times after graduating. Not to pass myself off as a student but to check the place out and rekindle some old memories. Never once did anybody question me being there. I just walked up and down a few hallways, poked around the cafeteria and gym and walked on out again. I even spun the combination on my old locker to see if it would work (it didn't).
But this was before 9/11 and Columbine and all that, so those were different times.

When I was in high school I would always bring my deer rifle to school on Fridays during hunting season so I could go hunting as soon as school let out. I'd leave it in the gun rack in the cab of my pick up parked in the school parking lot, but I would frequently take it out during lunch to compare rifles and scopes with friends or teachers. No one ever complained.

Doesn't say how old you are, just where you grew up maybe. I must say I did the same thing, I grew up in rural NW Iowa and am 30 years old now.

My dad used to take his rifle to school, carry it in and put it in his locker. No school shootings. One local school I substitute in has a rifle range in the basement. (Not used now, of course.) It just goes to show, the problem is NOT the guns. It's today's society...
