Kline Concerned about Sodomy Case
WIBW, Kansas
Attorney General Phill Kline is concerned that if a sodomy case before the courts goes against the state, the Kansas marriage law and laws against sex with children will be nullified.
Kline held a news conference on Monday about the case of Matthew Limon, convicted in 2000 of having sex with a 14-year-old boy.
That was in a group home for the developmentally disabled.
The defendant's attorney, working for the ACLU, argues that Limon's 17-year prison sentence is unfair.
The defense says another Kansas sex law provides a lesser penalty if the participates are within four years of the same age.
But that applies only to heterosexual sex.
Kline was filing his response to ACLU arguments, which he said are so broad they could result in abolishing state laws.

I see the ACLU is still at work, redefining the meaning of the acronym. They seem to be working towards "American Civil Libertines Union".

Kline is just scaremongering. This is about two retarded boys in a group home. If the older one had had sex with a 14 year old girl, he'd have gotten a slap on the wrist; since he had sex with a 14 year old boy, he got 17 years in the slammer. This has nothing to do with weakening laws about sex with children. It has to do with equalizing laws re heterosexual and homosexual sex with children, so as not to end up with idiotic outcomes like the one in this case.

Sentencing guidelines for crimes in Kansas is the business of the state of Kansas. Not the federales or their neo-federales supporters.
If the people of Kansas have decided that homosexual rape delivers more harm to the victim than heterosexual rape, then it is their perogative to adjust the sentencing accordingly.
Unless of courseyou happen to be a committed federale.

This is some Sick crap.I used to work in a group home Taking care of Mentally retarted adults. It Just amazes Me how people can abuse these people And feel no kind of guilt. These Mentally challenged people,Most of them are in these type of group homes Because their families didn't want anything to do with them Because of their handicap. it just angers me.

There was no evidence of abuse by the workers at the home. One retarded minor inmate had sex with another retarded minor inmate. Because the younger one was the same sex, rather than opposite sex, from the older one, the older one was convicted of statutory rape and sentenced to 17 years in prison. THAT is the only abuse that has occurred here.

Just heard O'Reilly is going to talk about something to do with this case (I think). According to him, a Kansas official claims the ACLU is pushing to legalize child-sex.
