Democrats are hinting that they'll go along with President Bush's request for $87 billion to cover military operations and reconstruction efforts in the Middle East. Nice of 'em, huh?

But make no mistake: It's not that the Dems suddenly understand the importance of defense.

Far from it.

"When they bash the "rich" for getting cuts, they're really bashing average working folk; the combined income of a cop-teacher couple, for instance, easily tops $100,000."

Right on the money! As a retiree with no children living at home the cuts don't directly affect me but they do all four of my adult children who have children of their own.
My children include a divorced mother of two struggling to provide for her children, a daughter who is a school teacher, a son who is a policeman (Currently on active duty in Iraq) and a son who is an iron worker. All four of them far from being "rich" and all four of them benefiting from the tax cuts.
I think of this every time I hear some dim witted democrat spewing garbage about tax cuts for the rich.

Democrats strenuously avoid recognizing that tax cuts always have and always will increase tax revenues because of increased economic activity. Since this will give them more money for pork, why do they do that?

Because, number one, it gives more power to the people rather than the government. Number two, they know that the economy will improve and that will help Bush, not them. This means they have less chance to regain power, and power is the most important thing in the world to them.

You would think by now they would have learned that their policies eventually lead to bankruptcy and their own demise. Do they care? No, they think when that time comes they will have made theirs and what happens to the rest of us is our own problem. After all, we deserve it for believing their lies.

Look at California. The Dems are still trying desperately to hang on to power although they have bankrupted the state. In the effort to hang on, the Democrats have enacted even more spending programs to benefit certain voting blocks even though that will only make matters even worse. Do they care? NO. Why? Power. By the time they are kicked out, assuming they can't blackmail the federal government to bail them out, they will have made their personal money and will gladly leave the problem to the Republicans to straighten out

Thedy let the Republicans do the heavy lifting because that will cause sacrifice on the part of the Democrat's constituency group leaches. Once the Republicans have the world back on an even keel, the Democrats can then create and exploit class warfare all over again because the "sacrifices" have caused "suffering". It is much easier, and often more profitable, to be unprincipled than principled. Tis human nature and unavoidable in a free society unless the populace is educated in government, economics, and sound moral principles. Is there any wonder why the left undermines all three?
