FR should not get itself into the category of money-hungry lawyers and their compliant clients. THEREFORE, if any suit is filed it should ask for "an apology, plus reasonable attorneys' fees," but no damages, unless the case is tried and the city loses at trial.
That way, we are reasonable as all git out, and the City attorneys would be well advised to get that apology out the door. In case the "Human Relations" people are dumb as a post and dug in solid, the case should make clear that an apology by the City on behalf of the HRC would be acceptable. (That would cause the City Council to back the HRC into a corner.)
They don't call me devious for nuttin.

Latest column, "An Open Letter to Howard Dean," discussion thread on FR. Article will probably be on ChronWatch also.
Uhhh, thanks Bob. Where on earth did you get the impression from ANY of my posts that I wanted to put FR in the 'category of money-hungry lawyers'?
Thanks for the democratic impression of me.
