Boyajian will suggest a possible seminar to improve sensitivity to minority groups.

LOL! And what else would you expect a scumbag simpleton like Boyajian to do?

Registration will be held at noon this Friday at City Hall and will be open to all racists, bigots, and homophobes white people who are not as enlightened as Tom Boyajian and other liberals.

"Fresno Mayor expects litigation as a result of HRC smear of FR?"

I hope you sue there eyeballs out.

Those liberal scumbags are obsessed with destroying traditional America and its families. It is what Democrats DO in order to grow the parasite class and thereby expand their core voter base. They need to be cut off at the kness ruthlessly and mercilessly at each and every opportunity.

Sounds like Hitlery is really gearing up for the Presidency. This is her's and Bill's handiwork. You can bet your bottom dollar.

They are doing to it to discredit groups that don't believe her and to seperate the people.

They are doing the same thing to Bush at every turn.

KMJ 5 O’clock News

The following is the report that was recorded from KMJ five o’clock news .

KMJ Anchor Reporter-

“The mayor says he wants to suspend the city committee that monitors discrimination and hate crimes after the Human Relations Commission’s chair woman called the Fresno organization a hate group. Autry was reacting to a news release issued by the commission’s chairwoman who said the hate group called the Free Republic was organizing a rally.

KMJ’s Michia Cradia (sp) has more –

Debbie Reyes has come under fire for sending out a news release last Friday warning that rallies on Friday and Saturday by the Free Republic could include violence. It said the Human Relations Commission says references to violence on the groups’ website have since been deleted but they haven’t been lost.

Voice of Debbie Reyes-

“Apparently they have been saved- uh, there are people out there that have them on a hard disk and they are making copies as we speak right now, for me”.

Reporter:

And Reyes says their saved web pages include threats against others who might show up at the rallies. She quotes one page as saying – we are going to have our guns full- and the message goes on to add that bullets are two bucks apiece and it might not be worth wasting them on liberals.

Mayor Allan Autry said he’d seek to suspend the Human Relations Group for calling the Free Republic a hate group.

End of coverage about Free Republic

I wrote an email to the mayor, letting him know that I was going to be coming to CA for a vacation next month, and that I had planned to visit Fresno for two days, primarily to see Harvey Korman and Tim Conway. Now, I'm going to suspend my vacation until this January, and spend it in Las Vegas, where they'll be performing. I just wanted him to know that this HRC stunt cost the city of Fresno two nights of hotel taxes, food taxes, and sales taxes. And it cost the state of California and it's economy a week's worth of tourist dollars. Probably well over $1300. Pretty expensive, just for insulting one person (me!)

Hewre is a letter from Councilman Duncan (scroll down halfway). It gives a pretty good idea of how far the HRC has strayed from its commission. It has become nothing more than a public relations organization promoting causes and figures of the far left and doing so in the name of the city of Fresno on the taxpayers' dime. As Duncan has pointed out, the HRC has even gone so far as to openly advocate for the democratic party and its program. (Yes, I know the letter I linked to is at the leftist indymedia site.)

What I can't understand is why Mayor Autry and reponsible members of the Council permitted this situation to go on for so long. It's been one endless embarassment for the city and worse than a waste of tax money.

Now, the future of Fresno's Human Relations Committee is on the line.

Wish I could remember whose line this is for proper credit:

Are we going to sue?
The way I look at it, all current and active members as of the statement by HRC have standing in a court of law.

How 'bout it folks?

LATEST FROM MAYOR AUTRY ON THE FRESNO HRC Autry blasts panel leader

By Pablo Lopez

The Fresno Bee

Published 09/16/03 05:20:28

Fresno Mayor Alan Autry can't suspend the city's Human Relations Commission, but his administration was still frustrated Monday by the commission chairwoman who labeled a local conservative organization a "hate group."

Debbie Reyes is under fire from Autry for issuing a news release Friday on city stationery that warned the community about the Free Republic's rally and picnic in north Fresno last weekend.

Autry said there is no evidence that Free Republic is a hate group, adding that the commission is "using the city of Fresno as a tool to attack people without cause."

Police Capt. Marty West said police have never clashed with Free Republic members, who have rallies to support President Bush and American troops fighting terrorism. "They are a peaceful group," West said.

Autry said the commission went too far, saying Reyes' news release was "inflammatory, reckless, irresponsible and dangerous."

Autry sought to suspend the commission, but under the city charter, the City Council controls the commission's budget, estimated at $193,100 this fiscal year.

Deputy Mayor Roger Montero said Monday that Reyes should resign. If she doesn't, he said, Council Member Cynthia Sterling should remove Reyes from the commission. Sterling appointed Reyes to the commission.

Sterling, a close friend of Reyes' sister, Assembly Member Sarah Reyes, D-Fresno, didn't return a telephone call or reply to an e-mail sent to her office.

Saturday, Human Relations Commissioner Cary Catalano said Reyes should resign. Catalano did not return several calls made Monday to his cell phone.

Reyes said she isn't about to quit, saying it is the commission's job to monitor residents' complaints against police, investigate hate crimes and organize community events. She said the job also includes alerting the community to potential danger.

Monday, Reyes and her supporters revealed dozens of posts linked to the Free Republic Web site that she said were inflammatory. Supporters included Nicholas DeGraff of Peace Fresno and Mike Rhodes, editor of Community Alliance magazine.

There is nothing wrong with the commission warning police of potential trouble, West said. In this case, police were alerted to a potential clash between Free Republic members and some unidentified "outside group."

"Police have a duty to monitor it," West said, noting that no trouble occurred at the Free Republic rally at Blackstone and Shaw avenues Friday evening. No trouble was reported at the picnic, either.

Free Republic founder Jim Robinson said Reyes has no proof that his members wrote the offending posts. And whether members did, Robinson said: "They were just joking. There were no threats made."

The posts displayed Monday by Reyes were apparent responses to a Web forum discussion of disrupting the Free Republic events. One post said members of Free Republic are anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-peace and justice, and anti-environment. "You forgot pro-gun. FR members are PRO-Gun. You guys need to remember that," the post said.

Another posting regarding the group's picnic at Woodward Park last Saturday said: "Lets see ... I got the sodas, the watermelon, fresh batteries for the stun guns, softball bats, pepper spray, my steel toed boots, arm bars, knee bars, chokes, neck cranks, wrist locks, shoulder locks ... this should be a fun picnic ... I almost hope that these uninvited guests show up."

Reyes, DeGraff and Rhodes admitted that their proof isn't solid: The postings, found on the San Francisco Indymedia Web site, are attributed to people who use monikers. In some cases, these people have written offensive words and pretended to be DeGraff, Rhodes and other community activists.

Robinson, 57, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, created Free Republic out of his home in 1996 shortly after muscular dystrophy forced him into early retirement. He said offensive postings "that are over the top" are removed from his Web site, which he claims has about 120,000 registered members with chapters nationwide. He believes 50 to 100 members live in the central San Joaquin Valley.

Robinson said he has no control over the people who post messages on the San Francisco Indymedia Web site. "Anarchists use it," he said.

Robinson said his members may have been agitated by the postings from the "outside group."

"The jokes came from both sides," Robinson said.

Robinson said he is proud of his Web site: "We wave American flags and support President Bush and U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq. We own guns, but we don't advocate violence."

Ha!! The HRC is acting like our Congress with regard to shutting down conservative talkie radio, afraid to take the verbal arrows of Active, Aware, Alert Citizens, enjoying their God given First Amendment Rights.

Hey, HRC get used to it, and face the facts, Free Republic is here to stay at it is Big, real Big factor in political social and cultural discourse and is supported solely by it's members and lurkers and most of all the hard work and loving dedication of our good host, Jim Robinson.

HRC on the other hand is dependent on us the tax payer and wouldn't know how to fund itself if it had too among other things.

"Boyajian will suggest a possible seminar to improve sensitivity to minority groups."

For the HRC, the general public or the Fresno chapter? How will that stop the HRC from acting like the taxpayer funded, leftist-socialist group that it is? How many minority FR members can make it to this proposed sensitivity seminar"? Because by suggesting this stupid seminar, Boyajian is saying that HRC is right and FR is a hate group.

I agree with Mayor Autry. $193,000 of taxpayer money goes to fund this stinking group and they're running around insulting and making basless allegations and encouraging fascist tactics against some of the very taxpayers who fund them.
