So Owen upheld Texas law regarding parental notification concerning minors and abortion and Pryor wouldn't take his family to "gay day" at Disneyworld. This makes them "truly odious"?

Good catch! I thought I remembered William Pryor in that "incident." The man objected to the perverse orgy of homosexuals fondling each other in public at Disney. He was there with his kids, and he saw that and worse taking place in front of children and their families at the park. For this "crime" of his, the media, demonrats, and homosexuals groups spit up pea soup as their heads turned around 360 degrees.

Simply, the Democrats played by the rules. The filibuster is in the rules. You need a two-thirds vote to end a filibuster. Republicans didn't have the two-thirds.

The use of the phrase "political hate crime" by Delay was not only stupid, it is dangerous. It is political correctness (or more accurately racial correctness), and, as the author of this piece correctly points out, strengthens and further legitimises the charge, which is usually directed at Republicans. It shows how the "ideas" of the left completely dominate public debate. For a temporary and largely illusory political advantage Delay and crew have significantly advanced the noxious beliefs of political correctness in an important arena.
