Actually for the record Arnold has stated that he supported repealing SB60 from his own mouth on live interviews with Bill O'Reiley and Sean Hannity.

For the record, Arnold has also stated the following...

"Proposition 187 has been resolved by the courts. It is time to move on. More than 2.3 million undocumented immigrants currently live in California. They cannot continue to live underground. I will work with federal officials to address this problem."
Schwarzenegger Campaign Website - joinarnold.com

While opposing driver's licenses for illegal immigrants, he said there should be a way of dealing with undocumented immigrants, but that it's a complicated federal issue.

''Should we have them to stay here, which I think is the right way to do,'' he said. ''But how do you then include them in our society, how do you make it official, how do you make it legal, all of those kinds of things?''

He said he would seek to form a coalition with other states with heavy immigrant populations and lobby the federal government to deal with the issue.
Monterey Herald - August 28th, 2003

Schwarzenegger criticized Davis for signing a bill granting driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants, saying, "We're leaving ourselves wide open to terrorism." And he repeated his support for a guest-worker visa program -- "then they can (get) driver's licenses hooked together with insurance."
Sacramento Bee- September 9th, 2003

Arnold wants to legalize the Illegals, and then give them the drivers' licenses anyway.

Here's a guy whose platform I endorse 100%. I wish he could be elected.

McClintock can be elected. We'll start with your vote.

Thank you for the endorsement and support. You've restored my respect for you.

You'll be starting without my vote, and I don't need the respect of someone willing to facilitate the election of Cruz Bustamante. Thanks for the offer anyway.

That's because Arnold will protect special interests, Tom won't. So don't expect too many endorsements for Tom, he isn't interested in showing favors. Its all about me, me, me, instead of what's best for the sheeple. Maybe they will see the light before election day and vote for Tom.

What is amazing is McClintock is the kind of candidate everybody claims they want to elect. Won't break promises, isn't slick and smooth, doesn't compromise his principles for a special interest buck, etc. So then the dream candidate is here, the one everybody claims they want, and people say "he can't win." Sad, sad, sad, letting the elite media keep brainwashing you into voting for a compelete slickster, the prototype politician you claim you can't stand, and you foam at the mouth for him.

First off I don't think that giving a driver's license to someone with amnesty is the same as providing someone with illegal status a driver's license. Amnesty requires a higher status of documentation and accountability. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe one of the provision in order to be granted amnesty is the need to apply for citizenship.

I have no problem with people applying for citizenship. If anything I find that immigrant whom have gone through the naturalization process to have a much higher degree of appreciation and respect for this country than many natural born citizens of this country. I understand that your going to argue that this comes off as rewarding those whom have entered the country illegally. And I agree with you it is. But it's better to have them documented and to have them go through the naturalization process in than to leave them as ghost on the radar. At least this adds a layer of accountability and it also requires them to learn the laws of this nation.

Because let's face it. Reagan provided amnesty because he most likely realized what a huge logistical politcal problem it would be to attempt to track down million of illegal immigrants. Arnold has probably come to the same term. McClintock is not going to round up the illegals that are already here and ship them back and I'll bet you any amount of dollars on that. Heck I would hazzard to say that if he were governor he might even be forced into providing amnesty at some point.

But here's the big difference. Both Tom and Arnold are looking at strategies to better secure the boarders. Both are looking at the Feds to provide a higher degree of accountability in protecting the boarders.

Neither Cruz Bustamante nor Gray Davis would ever be willing to provide those concessions. That's day and night if you ask me.

Really excellent editorial.

If you've not read it, you'll be tempted to excerpt just about every paragraph. Well-written, well-reasoned, good stuff.

"Really excellent editorial."

Sorry but I'm only accepting editorials from true bastions of conservatism such as I.E. Katie Couric, The LA Times and the National Inquirer. . .

Thanks for the ping.

It's a terrific endorsement, laying out many logical reason, which unfortunately will continue to be ignored by some.

Tonight after getting home from the University of Oklahoma football game here in Norman, I had an AOL Update News email from AP about the RATs endorsing Bustamante and in the center of the email was the following:

Schwarzenegger, meanwhile, addressed a state Republican Party convention crowd divided over whether to back the socially moderate actor or support the more conservative McClintock, who is in line with the party faithful on issues such as abortion and guns but is widely viewed as unlikely to beat Bustamante.

Schwarzenegger sought to reassure party activists that he is one of them. He repeatedly described himself as a conservative, proclaimed, ``I love the Republican Party,'' and invoked the state's most beloved GOP figure.

``In 1964, Ronald Reagan gave a speech called 'A Time for Choosing.' That is what we face here today,'' the action star told the crowd of more than 500 at a hotel near Los Angeles International Airport.

``We as Republicans have a choice to make: Are we going to be united or are we going to be divided? Are we going to win in unity with our common fiscal conservative principles or let the liberals win because we are split? Are we going to fight Davis and Bustamante or are we going to fight among ourselves? I say, let us unite for victory.''

The speech did not mention McClintock, who was to speak to delegates Saturday evening.

The lawmaker has shown no sign of dropping out. ``I'm in this race to the finish line,'' he said at a pro-recall rally Saturday in Long Beach.

``I think if Schwarzenegger's campaign spent a fraction of the time studying the issues that they have been trying to muscle me out of the race, they'd be in much better shape today,'' McClintock told reporters after speaking at the rally.

Some Republican delegates who like McClintock said they have to be realistic in choosing whom to support.

Dottie Van Eckhardt, a delegate from Yuba City, called McClintock ``a lovely man'' but said she was supporting Schwarzenegger.

``I think McClintock probably is more experienced, but Arnold can win,'' she said.

(End of Excerpt)

Thought you all would be interested in what I bolded along with the underline. If you will note that Arnold did not go after McClintock by name in his speech and just asked Republicans to unite behind him. Read what McClintock had to say about Arnold. How anyone can keep support McClintock with his attacks is beyond me. California needs a Governor that can help get them out of the economic mess not the "my way or no way" politics of McClintock IMO!

Schwarzenegger on McClintock:

"No matter what anyone tries to do and say, I will never say anything negative about Tom McClintock," he said. "I respect him, I think he's a terrific man, and this is a decision that he has to make for himself."

McClintock on Schwarzenegger:

"I think if Schwarzenegger's campaign spent a fraction of the time studying the issues that they have been trying to muscle me out of the race, they'd be in much better shape today."

Oh my gosh, this needs to be posted with that whiney-baby picture we usually use for the Demo's.

What a whiney loser. He's lost all admiration.

Thanks for posting those quotes. Those two quotes show who has class and who is only out for himself IMO!

Looks to me like the Republican Party's candidate defeating Bustamante means nothing to McC -- it is all about him and only him. He just cannot stop himself from trashing Arnold. Have you seen any quotes where he goes after Bustamante?
