That Our Sons Did Not Die in Vain On losing a child in the cause of freedom.
The debate over whether our cause in Iraq is just rages in the media with one expert after another shouting to be heard. With the second anniversary of Sept. 11 upon us, this endless second-guessing about our decision to go to war has me frantically flipping channels to get away from it all.

And her son.
May flights of angels sing him to rest.

It sounds like she's stuck getting her information from the Alphabet Soup gang and not getting the entire picture. That may be what is bumming her out.
I bet if she got a "fair and balanced" picture, she'd feel better.

This was a letter to the editor that was published on either Thursday or Friday. It is nice to see that they thought so well of it that they put it on the Web site. It is a very thoughtful and well written piece.

I remember Kristofer. I remember each face. We used to post them here on FR and each was taken into our hearts and seared into our memories.
The hatred I am beginning to feel toward our media is almost viseral.

Pray for our troops, the President, our citizens, coming with resolute minds and hearts to the defense of our country.

How it must hurt the Gold Star Mothers to hear the calumny directed against their sons... bullies, baby-killers, etc. When in truth they are being welcomed by most Afghanis and Iraquis as friends, allies, liberators.
What they have done and are doing is magnificent. I have never been prouder of our armed services, and never been prouder to be an American -- to be a small part of such a great venture: bringing God's gift of freedom to the world. These brave ones gave their lives knowingly and willingly for their mission. It is NOT 'supporting the troops' to say that their mission is wrong, just bring them home. That WOULD mean that they died in vain.
The only reason such a sentiment gets any traction is because Big Media never prints the positive stories... like the ones we get from Ragtime Cowgirl! Brava!
