More and more he shows how self-absorbed he is. I suspect he's been a politician too long and it is showing.

Once again Arnold shows that he has his priorities straight, while McClintock shows that his priorities are only meant to serve him.

Actually, McClintock is the only one standing up for the party, not ruinng it. Arnold certainly does not represent the party's mission.

In the beginning, I was willing to give Schwarzenegger the benefit of the doubt but after he started parading liberal democrats and RINO's in front of my face and spitting in my face, I just can't bring myself to support the big guy.

In good conscience, I can only vote for McClintock, a tried and true conservative. McClintock is with us on every single issue.

If Tom McClintock decides to pull out, I'll think about voting for Arnold because you're right - Arnold is better than Cruz on the abortion question. At least Arnold is against partial birth abortion. However, Lager says he won't vote for Schwarzenegger under any circumstances.

Tom would do nothing to prevent abortion even if he were to be elected. So enabling Bustamante is supposed to better than voting for Arnold?

You can't achieve things overnight. Help weaken the Democrats so that we can achieve all our goals. I've come to realize that dealing with the left requires a war of attrition and complacency in chipping away at their power base does not help.

Let me ask you "Arnold or Bust" types (wow, I didn't realize what a great pun that is until I had typed it) a question. If McClintock does what you wish and pulls out soon, and then Arnold gets handed his lunch in the upcoming debate, either because he gets blindsided by a reference to something in his past which he won't have time to effectively rebut, or because he simply can't articulate a credible response to the Democrat issue-oriented assaults in the allotted time, so much so that it effectively destroys his candidacy, will you still blame McClintock when Arnold loses to Bustamante or will you be able to suppress your egos and muster the integrity to admit you backed the wrong candidate?

The other day I also had a message on my answering machine from "The Republican Assembly" or something like that, telling me that Arnold is afraid to debate McClintock and defend his liberal positions, and of course, vote McClintock.

I think this was a dirty trick on the part of the McClintock campaign, pretending that Republican organizations endorse him, over Arnold, and viciously attacking Arnold, not a word against Bustamante.

I used to at least have respect for Tom, that he is sincere, a decent person, and a conservative, who wants to do what is best. Clearly he is smart enough to know that what he is doing is destructive for California and the Republican party and is doing it anyway.

Perhaps the real Tom is peeking out from under the veneer.

I got one of those phone calls, too. It was from the California Republican Assembly. They also called again and asked me for money, because McClintock's too broke to pay for CRA ads (which are usually paid for by the candidates, as the CRA has limited funds).

I asked them why McClintock couldn't use his tribal gaming donations to pay for their ads.

I heard this exchange this morning. McClintock was persistent but did not badger Ahnold, and he was not rude. Armstrong & Getty had just let Ahnold speak for about 15 minutes, the exchange occurred, then they interviewed McClintock.

The difference between the two is glaring. Yes, Ahnold may be electable and popular, but he couldn't find his ass with both hands and a hunting dog, politically. He does not know what he is talking about and it shows - he's all platitudes and generalities, and he doesn't answer questions specifically.

McClintock (please, no cross-eyed, lipless comments) is nails on what needs to be done, specifically. From workers comp to taxes he knows the territory. How sad that most people choose charisma and looks over substance.

The Times deliberately skewed the results, by including more conservatives than the actual voter base.:

"Of the likely voters in The Times Poll sample, 38% identified themselves as conservatives. In the Field Poll, only 32% identified themselves as conservatives. That difference could partially explain McClintock's better showing in the Times survey.

In last November's election for governor, 35% of those who voted identified themselves on exit polls as conservatives. If this year's electorate resembles last year's turnout, The Times Poll would have slightly too many conservatives in it, while the Field sample would have slightly too few.

In the last election, 35% of people identified themselves as liberals. In The Times Poll sample, 34% of those surveyed said they were liberal. But the Field Poll sample included only 25% liberals. (In the Field sample, 43% called themselves moderates, compared with 30% in last year's election)."

The California Republican Assembly is not affiliated with the McClintock campaign. It has been around for many years as has the Arizona Republican Assembly. The CRA is a state assembly of conservative Republicans which falls under the National Federation of Republican Assemblies which is now affiliated with Free Republic (see the front page, near the bottom).

Don't go shooting your mouth off until you know what the heck you're talking about.
