Yup. That is EXACTLY what he said. He did not back down or say he spoke in the heat of the moment.

One effective tactic of leftists is to summon great outrage when a conservative says something they don't like and loudly demand a public apology. This sort of thing makes our weaker citizens, such as Former Majority Leader Lott, whimper and abase themselves in orgies of toadying remorse.

The leftists themselves, meanwhile, utter the most vicious slanders without batting an eye.

Far better to reject the assumption that we're obligated not to offend leftists. Rush, bless him, knew all this long ago. You don't like it that I called Hillary a witch? No, no, I said a "screaming" witch...

For those freepers who are connoisseurs of liberal angst, I offer a small vignette from last year's CPAC in DC. Terry McAuliffe had just completed a surprise radio interview on Radio Row. He and a small group of bodyguard types paused at the FR booth on their way out. One of the storm troopers froze as he spotted a poster -- by Registered, I believe -- that featured Hillary's head tastefully grafted onto the body of a pig. This guy was beyond appalled. He couldn't say anything, and he couldn't look away. He just stood there with his mouth open, paralyzed by utter, complete outrage. Presently he became aware that I was a couple of feet away, smiling blissfully, and he physically shook himself and stalked away.

It was a moment I will always cherish.

So, in the immortal words of Hunter S. Thompson (admittedly an unlikely role model for conservatives), "Never apologize. Never explain."

I did not get to listen to more than 10 minutes of Rush, but I think this was about a perky Katie Couric interview of Hillery this morning. She could not just comemorate 9-11 without stabbing Bush in the back every time she spoke. Today I think that Rush's comments were needed saying. It is time to call these people to account when ever they need it.

IMO, he was right. Hillary is trying to set herself up to be a candidate for president, and she'll say or do anything to tear into Bush, no matter the occasion or impropriety of her comments.

I think that's true. The funny thing is it's really stupid for her to do this. I'd heard she has a political tin ear, this pretty much proves it. She has 9 flying monkeys out there to rip into the president for her, allowing her to take the high road if she wishes, and appear presidential and appear to have some gravitas.

The one fortunate thing about evil is that it always over-reaches (David Copperfield). The 'craps can't get past their anger, bitterness, frustration, and hatred of W to follow any sort of coherent strategy to contend for the White House.

I wonder if my econ teacher, who recently called Rush "Klan Lite" will have the temerity to mention this...probably not, because if he listened to the show he wouldn't call Rush "Klan Lite" or any other name denoting racism.
