Comedian Chong Sentenced on Drug Charges

By DAN NEPHIN, Associated Press Writer

PITTSBURGH - Tommy Chong (news), who played one half of the dope-smoking duo in the Cheech and Chong movies, was sentenced to nine months in federal prison and fined $20,000 Thursday for selling bongs and other drug paraphernalia over the Internet.

The 65-year-old was allowed to remain free until federal prison officials tell him in a few weeks where he must report to prison.

Chong also forfeited about $100,000 for his arrest on federal drug paraphernalia charges. He'll spend a year on probation after he's released from prison.

His Nice Dreams Enterprises, which made a line of marijuana bongs and pipes, was to be sentenced later Thursday. Under federal law, the business itself can be placed on probation or face other sanctions.

Tommy Chong and Peter Paul as cell mates......

Chong: "Hey man, what are you in for?"

Paul: Oh, I'm in for giving millions in illegal campaign contributions to the Clintons and stock swindling"

Chong: "Oh wow man....Good thing I never sold them a bong"

With this prosecution, the price of a Tommy Chong Bong has now become only within the reach of the wealthy. I bet they fetch $5,000 a copy within a month.

"I for one feel much safer now that Tommy Chong can't sell me a bong."

I do also.
It is well known that a bong is part of a gateway progression:
bing, bang, bong!

Don't bother me now man, I'm cutting plexi, assembling fittings, and testing as we speak. I've got old Big Bambu graphics burning on the color printer to laminate to the plexi.

I'm working a deal that for every bong purchased 50% of the profit goes to the RNC. That should delay any legal hassles for about.......well, forever!

Awww I was just funnin....my little ville is actually quite nice. Everyone takes great care of their property in an above average manner. Some folks actually stand outside and catch leaves, versus raking em up later, in the fall just to outdo the Jones ! Small Texas town USA is a nice place to be these days .....

Stay Safe I'm off to the salt mines !

The socialistic state of Illinois recently passed legislation legalizing the purchase / distribution of hypodermic needles / syringes (up to 20 at a time) from pharmacies, by drug addicts... a prescription isn't needed either...

You go for it. I'll take the WOT angle. A long black bong with a silouette of OBL and the words "Blow Me Away" etched in it. And perhaps a "Dubya" model multi-hosed hookah inscribed with "You're either with us or against us!"

If manufactured and sold in Wisconsin, under what Article of the Constitution does that Federal authority lie?

I don't know - I think that half the things the Ashcroft justice department does are not justified or constitutional. He seems to think that the constitution is just so much toilet paper.

Sounds too civilized to me. Up here in Vermont we bring our women home after clubbing them with an empty machine gun then chain them in the garage to buff paint on our hotrods.

Which reminds me ... Thirty, honey. Have you got the new bearings in my transmission yet?

Well so much for staying safe!

Another glorious victory in the WOD, eh guys?

I'll bet you all will feel so much safer when Tommy Chong's locked up in Club Fed, being fed and clothed at your expense, while Al Qaeda cells continue to operate.

Terrorists? Naaa, just move on, nothing to see here. Bong sellers are much more dangerous to the Republic. Right?

Especially bASSsy, since Mr. Tommy Chong, would be, IMO, part of the Hollywood left giving comfort to our enemies by parrotting the latest lefty line, like the Hollywood lefty line during Vietnam.

Vietnam(Iraq) is harmless. We are in a quagmire in Vietnam(Iraq).

But Tommy Chong is your hero, no matter his main objective of pushing the drug culture, and his(no doubt) leanings with the Hollywood elite.

Or why he and Cheech haven't ridden the recent nostalgia/reunion wave and gotten back together. I think Cheech is trying to be respectable now or something.

Actually, I saw Cheech on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night, and he was talking about a new Cheech&Chong movie. He also talked about it being contingent on Chong's sentencing in this case. I guess they will have to put it off. He also mentioned said "John Ashcroft is evil, evil, evil" in the context of Chong's bust. I'm not sure what Ashcroft has to to with anything.

Also, Jimmy asked him if he was stoned "right now" and Cheech said, "well, I wouldn't call it stoned, hehehe."
