All I have heard so far is that there is some sort of highschool shooting.

There's a small but vocal contingent here who jumps at any opportunity to inject race into any discussion related to crime.

Perhaps that's because there's a small but vocal contingent of policemen who insist on describing the races of their suspects.

I thought there were two dead in the Santee shooting. There was another shooting incident shortly after that at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, a few miles from Santee, but no one was killed in that case.

It's interesting to see that they have Filipinos as a distinct group, although they are Asian...and the Philippine Islands are islands in the Pacific, so they should be considered Pacific Islanders too. I had heard of this being done to track racial percentages in the University of California student body, but I don't know how widely this is done (treating Filipinos as separate from other Asians).

It may be cultural, but let me tell you, when it hits the fan, the descriptions going out on police frequencys are not cultural descriptions. They are generally clear physical descriptions.

It's kind of interesting. If someone guesses "white" shooters, that okay --- no one calls them a racist. It's okay to speculate as long as you speculate Columbine type spoiled white kids. It's even okay to speculate white kids doing a drive-by shooting even though I'm not sure there have been any cases of that ever.

It's also pretty interesting no one speculated immigrants from India or any other kind of Asians might be the shooters. No one even speculated Arab Muslim kids doing a drive-by shooting.

And I am confident that innocent victims of these brutal, murdering gangs are really not concerned about their ancestory or there culture.

If they are innocent. Around here the gangs don't cooperate with the police even when they're victims because they'd rather plan their own revenge ---- with another shooting. And they're usually fairly careful to make sure they get back at the right group --- ancestry and all.
