It's interesting to see that they have Filipinos as a distinct group, although they are Asian...and the Philippine Islands are islands in the Pacific, so they should be considered Pacific Islanders too. I had heard of this being done to track racial percentages in the University of California student body, but I don't know how widely this is done (treating Filipinos as separate from other Asians).

Why on earth do they have them in their own group and yet lump together all the "non-hispanic whites" which would include Swedes, Irish, Greeks, Italians, Russians, English, Portugese, Germans, etc?

Maybe Filipinas are classified separately from other Asians because many are conservative, Catholic Christians, and liberals would definitely not want to give preferential treatment to people like THAT.
