Ditto everything you said about President Bush and Israelis voting Democrat typically. I had known Arafat was the most frequent WH visitor. That's Clinton for you -never met a terrorist he didn't like.

Your post was an excellent one - very well thought out and written. Thanks.

Then I see that fat beast Sharon march up to the Temply Mount and set this whole intifada off.

The rioting was planned way in advance. Sharon's visit was the excuse, not the cause. Calling him a "fat beast" doesn't make you sound like an objective non-partisan observer.

Some ultra orthodox murderer kills Rabin, a true man of peace.

Clue: Yigal Amir is not ultra-Orthodox, nor did any Orthodox Jews celebrate what he did. You are way out of line.

I guess it doesn't. I guess I was playing the tribalism card. Here's my take on the situation.

Everyone plays tribalism card in the Middle East. You were far from the worst but it was confusing

Then I see that fat beast Sharon march up to the Temply Mount and set this whole intifada off.

Sharon is a true hero-warrior. Read his biography some day.
You really think that if Sharon had not gone to Temple Mount we would have peace right now?

He did not set off the intifada. Arafat was planning this for months. He saw how Israel retreated from South Lebanon due to Hizballah. Arafat figured he was at least as good as HizbAllah. So he started the second intifada. Trust me on this one, Sharon on the Temple Mount is Muslim and leftist propaganda. Do not be duped.

Writer Phyllis Chesler, who is Jewish and ultra-feminist, has just written a book about the rise of anti-Semitism, and she sees the irrational and potent anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli sentiments of the Left as explainable only as a kind of psychosis.

Good. Phyllis Chesler is not a complete idiot; she was right about surrogate motherhood.

But she needs to wake up and realize that all doctrines of the Left are psychotic, not just the anti-Semitic ones.

Will Israel hit if Sharon is away?

Israel has not acted and will not act.

They lack the will. The deaths we all see are acceptable casualties.

Full open warfare would end it in 72 hours, but thousands would die.

As long as it's the right thousands.

It really is a war, and when you are in a war there is ONLY ine way to get peace...kill the enemy. As long as the Palestinians think they can win by terror the terror campaign will continue.
This ain't rocket science.

Thanks for the prayers for my family. Physically they all fine but expectedly they are very shooken up. I can only hope that Sharon will return from India to put the Israeli millitary in motion. It is high time Israel stopped taking suggestions from the rest of the world on how to protect themselves.

"One witness said the guards definitely pushed the bomber outside the Cafe, where he managed to shout Allah Akbar (God is great) before he exploded. " ---JPost

If the bomber had shouted "Jesus Saves " it would be in every morning paper's headline. But the "Allah Akhbar "cry will be carefully scrubbed from every American newspaper, for fear of offending the fragile folk at CAIR.

You know, Israel really needs to stop caring what the rest of the world thinks, including the American administration.

No kidding. A disturbingly large portion of the world will never forgive the Israelis for their crimes of being Jewish and continuing to breathe. And thanks to the failures of our energy policies, the US government feels the need to suck up to their terrorist-enabling theocratic dictator neighbors.

I'm not religious, never been to Israel, don't know anyone there personally, but I'm fed up with watching scumbag terrorists murder innocent people and seeing the responses from the rest of the world ranging from disgusting moral equivocation to outright applause. These animals need to be wiped off the planet yesterday.

And if they were to stop breathing, the Muhammedans would would concentrate fully on the Christians.

Indeed you are correct, and when the Christians are gone, they will kill all the infidels. Jews and Christians are to be offered the chance to convert to Islam or the sword, Infidels are not to be offered that chance but are to be slaughtered without recourse according to the Koran.

As a side note, two of those civilians attacked at the Hillel last night turned out to be friends of a friend. The Man, a doctor from the local hospital took his daughter out to a dinner to celebrate her wedding scheduled for today. Both were killed last night in the Hillel.

Israel is just turning the other cheek trying to find a peaceful solution. Nothing more, nothing less. Once they finally determine that there is no one to make peace with, I am sure they will wipe out the PLO once and for all.

Palestinian is a political party, not a people.

I will keep my eye open for Mike's place. I am not in Tel Aviv often, but sure love the beach when I can get there.

Well, the temple mount at the time was a public place, open to all. It is not like Sharon did anything that anyone else could not do. Jews visited that temple mount every day before that.

Nah, the whole thing was a media sham. Heck they had already jumped the gun and started shooting and bombing two days before "Sharon started it".

Bullshirt, just like all the other offerings from the mouth of Moslems.

"Savages, beasts etal. This is a race war. Been once since a prophet said down and penned the life of Abraham."

I don't believe this has anything to do with race; it's cultural war pure and simple. It's almost as if we a re-living the crusades.

What they want is a brutal repressive government based on Islamic Law. What I want is a free democratic government based on Judeao-Christian values.

Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan are the battlegrounds now. If we have any hope of winning this war we MUST be victorious there. We can't cut and run, we can't isolate ourselves from the problems we face. If we do we are only comitting suicide; our culture will only be overrun in time.

In the future, I hope the people of Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia see what can be made possible in a free society and rise up against their leaders. A bit optimistic yes, but I would rather have them do their own dirty work so we don't have too.

As for our propensity to destroy our own culture from within; you are right. However, that is a story for another day.

You folks have channelled my frustration into solid replies and for that I commend you. I was just a bit disgusted and apprehensive yesterday. The next three months (until the end of Ramadan) have got me nervous as heck. The rarest of rare double eclipse during Ramadan 2003 and all that portends makes it so.

All civlized persons are justifiable sick over this cycle of violence, but it's a new day ripe with hope. We can never lose hope. Everyone have a good day.

"We can never lose hope."

Amen. People such as yourself, and all conservative minded people in general, have to make sure our nation and its leaders don't lose focus and resolve.

That's why the 2004 election is so critical. If the left makes significant gains the road to hoe in the future will be that much more difficult. Listening to the Dem's debate last night made me cringe.

I'm usually very pessimistic when it comes to the average American's understanding of the world we live in. However, in our post 9-11 reality people seem to be paying more attention to what our leaders have to say. I believe that is a good thing; although I don't know if they (we) are really prepared for the sacrifices that may be required to overcome this dark time in our history.

I'm 41, I've always felt that my generation was fortunate in not having to face the anguish and horrors that other generations had to endure. I no longer beleive that is the case. We best prepare ourselves for the long haul; it will be a bumpy one to say the least.

Even with all that being said, I beleive that our nation, and the all other nations of the free world who wish to join us, will prevail. That I am certain of.

IMHO

I am very sorry to hear this. May G-d help your grandmother and the rest of the family to endure this ordeal. I too am very tired of seeing my people murdered. How many more do we have to sacrifice for the rest to see the truth finally?

The Israelis just don't have the chutzpah to do what's needed, sadly.

You are right: they are afflicted with the same decease that eats at the heart of all Western civilization.
