Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Yosef Lapid showing a sword presented by All India Anti-Terror Front chairman Ms. Bitta at a function in New Delhi on Tuesday, September 9, 2003

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (L) talks to President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam during a meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan (The Presidential Palace) in New Delhi on September 9, 2003. Sharon kicked off his visit to India, the first by an Israeli leader, on Tuesday promising to build closer ties, a move that has raised concerns in neighbouring Pakistan.

Sharon, who arrived Monday night, visited Rajghat, the tranquil memorial to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, as he launched his three-day visit.
In his comments in the visitors' book, he wrote: "From Jerusalem, the city of peace, the internal capital of the Jewish people, I bring you a message of hope and peace.
"Today Israel and India are embattled democracies and sharing values and the challenge of terrorism. United in our quest of life, liberty and peace, our joint determination to fight for these values can inspire our hope for a better future for our people."

I just hope this leads to an alliance between Israel and India, and an end to India voting with the Arabs at the U.N. Both nations are facing Islamic fanatic terrorism and need to work together.

The sword looks Pakistani...wouldn't that be ironic? I'll bet it's such good steel that it can cut an aluminum can in half and still be able to smush a marshmallow.

It's actually more Rajasthani, from the western state which has descendents of the Scyths living there. Don't forget north India and Pakistan are culturally very much similar, though one is progressive (ind) and the other retrogresive and slamic.
