Isn't it wonderful to see the reaction from these military men from WWII, Korea and VietName when we thank them for their service.
They all need to know that they are appreciated.

Then you remember hot pants! Indeed I do. And fortunately hot pants and hip-huggers were in style when I was still in shape to be able to wear them. ;-)
The kids today probably don't have any idea that their "fashions", the hip-huggers and platform shoes, are nothing more than a rehash of what their grandmother was wearing in her day. Each generation wants to believe that they are on the cutting edge with their music and fashions. LOL.
My son told me once that since he wasn't born until the very end of that decade, he and many of his friends felt gypped out of getting to experience the 60's. I suppose there is some kind of allure; the music, the styles, the turbulent atmosphere of war protests, the psychedelic culture of that time period, that the preceeding generations feel they missed. To those of us who lived through it, it was just our "life".

Free, I refuse to get into a war of words with you.
I refuse to question your integrity just because you're a lawyer.
I refuse to mention your ill-temperedness.
I refuse to bring up the humiliating fact that you play chess.
I refuse to remind people that you voted for Jimmy Carter.
Be thankful I'm above such things and am going to ignore your taunts.
:-)

Beautiful picture, beautiful words, Johnny Mac. No surprise there though. You do have a way.
It is really bad when dem dam dims are constantly demonizing our President - calling it his war, etc. I shudder to think what a mess we would really be in if he hadn't been strong in November 2000 and stood up for what was his. (It still galls me to hear 'them' say that President Bush 'stole' the election.)

Thank you, BIS. I was just ready for a change, and it's been a while since I've pinged all those who have a loved one on that Prayer List.

ROFL!! Ah, well-timed too: I'm dealing with some liars today. (But hey, the Jimmy Carter thing is a low blow, albeit proof that you actually do read my posts!)
Lawyers and integrity:
A lawyer and a doctor get mixed up in a bad car accident with each other. Seeing that the doctor's shaken up, the lawyer walks over to his car, removes a flask, and offers the doctor a drink. The doctor thanks him and accepts.
They both console each other about what a near-death experience they've had and view their total wrecks of cars. The doctor hands the flask back to the lawyer and said, "You want some too, don't you?" The lawyer says, "No thanks. I'll wait until after the police come and leave."

Cute story free!
To: Spruce; ohioWfan
Oh what a touching picture Spruce. Thanks for posting it. And yes...they look like babies...god bless them.
BTW...I bet you are proud of your daughter although I'm sure you miss her dearly. Keep us informed about her training. We've been following Eric,OhioWFan's son, since his first day of boot camp. He's almost become an adopted son to all of us.
An aside, I'm sure OhioWFan would be happy for you to freepmail if you have questions or concerns...you know...from one loving mother to another.

That was a beautiful story that you posted! Our soldiers have protected us and richly deserve our prayers and thanks! It brought tears to my eyes to think of those men being applauded! I have two brothers-in-law that were over in Iraq, and thank God made it home safely! I know how touched they were when strangers greeted them or said job well done.
To: The Thin Man; FreeTheHostages
Dear Thin Man:
Another long day at spelling school. But I'm beginning to think you're right...it might be mom's fault for always wanting to put words in my mouth...
Well..anyway...I'm rethinking my opinion of you.
Giz
P.S. But please be nicer to Aunt Free and Billie. They really are nice...REALLY REALLY.
