September 8, 2003 -- THe conventional wisdom, at least in Europe, is that President Bush's hope of turning Iraq into a catalyst for democratization in the Arab world has already failed. Footage of the carnage from bombings is presented, along with almost daily sabotage operations, to back the claim that democratization is a forlorn cause in the Arab world. But is it?

It appears that the effects of the Bush Doctrine will not be fully known until long after his Presidency ends in 2009.

W is bringing a Renaissance to the Moslem world 500 years after the first Renaissance pulled Europe from the dark ages. Such a blossoming of freedom is wonderful, no wonder the RATS hate him so much. Islam came in with a sword and is now is being civilized by the sword.

Europe in her eminent decline, judges from a smugness only possible from a people ruled between the courts of "maintained kingdoms" and the liberal elite who control together with the former Kings that only their brand of colonial stewardship must be administered, aka the Congo, Ivory Coast, and numerous Africa locations, or perhaps New Guinea where French Missiles launch, as the shinning examples of European enlightenment. There is no room for the competitive democracy offered by American, especially if they crony ship will not secure "free trade" for Europe.

It was an inspirational speech last night. Seems many were waiting to speak until they heard the President once more reaffirm our goals in Iraq.
"What we need is a space of freedom in which to think and speak without fear," says a leading Syrian economist. "Bashar knows that if he does not create that space, many Syrians will immigrate to Iraq and be free under American rule."
Iraq-ization appears to be spreading beyond the Iraq borders. Cool.

Ed Asner must be rolling over in his SOCIALIST grave (OH Wait.. he isn't dead yet!!)..LOL!!
Hollywood must be sick to their stomachs on this news! After seeing communism flourish under Clinton, this must be a sad day in Hollywierd.
But in all seriousness,..this is truly wonderful news. Seeds of hope.
President Bush's legacy will be long felt. I had a feeling he was going to be one of our greatest Presidents, and stated that on our profile page. I never dreamed we would experience the horrors of 9-11. The way he has handled that, and then terrorism alone has filled the bill. But now this. Just amazing..
Lets just pray we have his leadership for as long as possible. I shudder to imagine anything else.

Regarding the dawn of democracy in the Middle East, Johnson noted to Boswell:
Depend upon it, Sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully.
Letter to Boswell, p. 167. 19 Sept 1777

"Despite the current difficulties in Iraq, the United States, Britain and other democratic nations should keep their eyes on the big picture."
All these changes in the Middle East in the past couple of months? Hmmmm. What's different?
Ana Palacio, Spanish Foreign Minister, expanded the perception of the 'big picture' further on Greta's show. She said that Iraq would be their neighbor when Turkey gained anticipated admission to the EU.
