Rather got the year of the 9/11 attack wrong! So what's your point? Rather has raised being wrong to an art form.

Jobs are important but if we get another 911 our country will sink,,this is far far more important.

Wish he'd have talked about jobs and the domestic situation a bit. Military projects create meaningful jobs and boost the economy like no other government spending.

He is a good man, a very good man.Jimmy Carter was a good man, a very good man with a good heart. That doesn't mean he was the best President. Ah, well, it's just another 87 billion down the drain right? With the other quarter of a trillion dollars Bush has introduced in programs who cares? BTW, how's that WMD hunt going? Or has the RNC changed its talking points of late
And no I will probably not vote for President Bush in 2004 and unless something serious changes I will cast my vote for a third party candidate or more than likely stay at home. Call me names, call me liberal, I could care less what you call me. I still vote my conscience and not the alphabet

We are fighting that enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan today, so that we do not meet him again on our own streets, in our own cities.I have my differences with GWB, but the above sentence is all I need to slap me in the face and remind me why I will vote for him again.
Now if only a few liberals would get slapped...

Am I the only one here that didn't get that many warm fuzzy's off this speech?

Barbara Olson obit in the movie now, very sad.... I wish that FNC would put together a Best of Barbara Olson special and air it on an anniversary of 9/11.

Did he say 87 Billion?Yeah, pretty shocking isn't it? Our economy must be ready to drop dead in its tracks if he wants to borrow and spend that much to keep the GDP positive.

Joe Biden: 'Bush has made a real U-turn, taking Powell's approach instead of that of the neo-conservatives. Bush leveled with the American people tonight.'
To: smith288
Even if he did accept that in his own mind it is pure nonsense to think he would publically state it.

Labels are for the simplemided. He said we are fighting in the midle east, he gives the benefit of the doubt. Don't cross him (us) with regard to that, or you'll lose (not directed to you, personally, of course).

Now, remind me: what was it that Bush said in one of his speeches about 9-11 about this being a "long road?"
People have forgotten that!

***He said it. I'm so glad he said it. VERY good speech.***
I knew you'd be happy.
It was an excellent speech. He was solid, strong, honest, and a LEADER. I expect most Americans (I do not include libs as Americans) were impressed by his leadership. I think they feel safer with Bush as president. Jobs count, but safety is tantamount to most voters.

how much they're spending on Iraq over and above what would be spent no matter where these troops were. I think that is what those numbers mean. I have heard that brought up before, and everybody seems to agree.
