Mark Furman wrote a fine book on the case, following the novel based on the same case. The novel was written by the father of the Hollywood star who was killed by her boyfriend. Since then he has been interested in rich kids who get away with murder.

The Skakel father commissioned a study to prove his older son was innocent. It showed that the younger son was guilty. The report eventually got to Mark Furman.
This reminds me of a scene in "The Godfather," where they need to pin the blame for the police captain being murdered on someone. Michael Corleone cannot be blamed. So they arrange a confession from someone already in trouble. In turn the Corleone family rewards the confessing family.
Yes, there's the ticket - a false confession throwing doubt on the whole case.
Part or all of the Skakel golf club disappeared after the murder. No doubt the police were working with Black kids to cover up the crime. No real investigation of the Skakel home ever happened. Doubtless because the police knew Black kids did it. Oh come on.

As I know the area well, this story is ridiculous. If the kids drove there, they would have had to have parked a car with NY plates on the road outside of Belle Haven, as they would not have been allowed into the neighborhood. If they walked, they would have had to walk a mile and a half or so up a long road from town.
Considering that of course the idea in the public was that it was an outsider, surely someone would have remembered seeing two black kids walking up the street, or a car with NY plates parked outside the neighborhood.
Plus, if it was really true that two black kids knew the Skakels, then you can be certain that the skakels would have tried to pin it on them rather than on the tutor.

Smells like Kennedy money all the way out the door. Convenient ain't it? Yep, complete with that salty Chappaquiddick bay sea air smell...

Will do, although with the president's speech tonight and a new OBL tape I'm not sure how much play this will get.
But color me intrigued, as well.

Part or all of the Skakel golf club disappeared after the murder. I knew a police officer who was at the scene who says he saw the "missing" handle of the golf club protruding from Martha's neck, and that it only went missing a bit later.

Yes, That was in Furman's book, too. Such a vicious murder.
Skakel wrote a book that was not published, wherein he claims he was made a scapegoat and took the rap for another Kennedy family member who was there that night.
Also, he was appointed bodyguard for Michael Kennedy, and escorted him home after his drinking binges. When Michael skiied into a tree, M. Skakel was no longer useful to the family.
The Kennedys do indeed operate like a Mafia family.

Yes, I did not give many details. First it was there, then it was gone. The club linked the murder to the Skakel house, next door to the Moxley home.
I admire Mrs. Moxley for sticking with it all these years and seeing the murderer off to jail.
