[history]
A relative of Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant implicates two friends in the 1975 murder for which Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel was convicted, a lawyer for Skakel said Saturday.
Defense lawyer Hope Seeley said Skakel will seek a new trial based on information from Gitano "Tony" Bryant, whose NBA superstar cousin was charged with rape in July.

This is beyond bizarre! Wasn't the former LAPD detective, Furman, instrumental in solving this case? Or was that another case?

Can we say quid pro quo? The Kennedy's know somebody connected with Bryant and think they can help Kobe. But Kobe's team must give something to the Kennedy's.
I just saw an attorney for one of these "boys" on FNC a little while ago. He said that these boys (who are all black, btw) were in Belle Haven drinking and smoking a little dope and hanging around because "of course they knew the Skakel family". Yeah - right.

It was Furman. He wrote a book about it and is credited with getting Skakel behind bars, where he belongs.

There were a lot of blacks in Belle Haven in the 70s. Of course it could also just be an urban legend.

Right--and OJ was on the grassy knoll, shooting at JFK. Oh yeah, I just remembered, Charles Manson killed Abraham Lincoln. Yeah, that's the ticket.

3 black kids in Belle Haven and 30 years later it's the first we're hearing about it? And one of them is related to Kobe Bryant? Doesn't pass the giggle test.

This is so funny I don't know how they can discuss it with a straight face. I might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night...

Sure they knew the Skakel Family and I have swampland for sale in AZ. Just never ceases to amaze me! The fact that it is a relative of Bryant defies my believeability meter!

Wow, I always new there was some kind of conspiracy with famous people, aliens, and the Kennedys.

You got that right. And if I remember Furman's book correctly, to even get into Belle Haven there is a guard shack. It's one way in, one way out. My sister lived in a neighborhood like that once - deliberately cut down outside traffic and burglaries.
I'm sure if three black kids had been in the 'hood that night, we'd have heard about it long before now.
Quid pro quo. Kennedy's probably know the prosecutor in the town in Colorado where Kobe is going to trial or something.

Tonight in the 9:00 p.m. EST FNC hour, Rita had some guy on who represents one of these kids. Rita said the kids were robbing a house and the guy refused to confirm or deny that.
What he would say is that his client was drinking beer, hanging around and they saw the golf clubs in the Skakel house or yard and took them. (Which doesn't make sense because Furman says only ONE club was missing. It was a rare type of golf club). Anyway, the kid got nervous because the other two boys started acting strangely and said they "wanted to kill someone in a caveman manner" and the kid further said they were obsessed with Martha.

I agree with you -- quid pro quo! You can bet money if blacks had been in the area back then, they would have been the first people looked at for the murder! That was the way it was and in a gated community would probably be the same way today!

Just watch Skakel get off with some legal "technicality" or "procedural error" after a new appeal. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Won't surprise me either. Powerful people and $$ - it's a bad mix if one wants justice.

Why am I not surprised that Rita has a source? This makes no sense at all! All this time and it comes out now?

If Michael didn't kill Martha, then his brother Tom did.
They were the only two in the vicinity that night who had motive, method, and opportunity.
I'm sure Mark Fuhrman would have picked up on it if two black boys were involved in any way.
