Hollywood is politically correct? Yeah we've known that for ages. Nothing sensational has been revealed here. Tell us something we don't know.

If you think the TV shows are racist against whites, watch a few commercials.

I believe Dick Wolf's affliction is more rooted in ignorance, than outright bias and therefor a "war against whites". Bernard Goldberg describes this phenomenon best in his book Bias.

Maybe I'm just a cockeyed optimist, but I really don't believe these people consciously do what they do. That's why they're so adimate in their denial of their bias.

Looking on the bright side this gives lots of acting work to white actors.

One of the vew network shows that I watch when I can is Law and Order. I also watch the reruns on the alternative channel. The treatment of the various ethnicities has been something I've paid some attnetion to. I have to say that blacks frequently turn out to be the quilty parties in these shows. I don't keep statistics, but I can recall one show in which a black stock broker had crookedly inflated his sales numbers. He murdered a white co-worker when it was discovered. The black stock broker was positively chilling in his detachment from the guilt of his crime. Black-on-black and black-on-white crime is frequently protrayed. I could be wrong, but it's my impression that the author of this article might be just a bit selective in the episodes he chooses to back his thesis.

I'm shocked. What's next the sun rising in the east?
No flame, but this is something we've known for years.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't watched network programming in years now. The less people that watch the less advertisers, the sooner these scum bags go under.

The agenda is for the race hustlers to create a divide between the races. I bet the show was created and sustained by left wing demonrats. Am I right?

""Smoke" (May 21, 2003) opens with the death of a child, whose adoptive father, a famous entertainer, had dropped him, while dangling him from a hotel room window. The detectives eventually discover that the entertainer would also arrange for underage boys to accompany him to his mansion, where he would sexually violate them.

When I told a not particularly media-savvy neighbor who is the mother of four small children that story line, she immediately said, "Michael Jackson!" But on L&O, the character is depicted as a WHITE comedian."

While I generally agree with what you wrote, there's a big exception here. Michael Jackson is not, and has not been, anything even vaguely resembling a black man since the late '80s. Similarly, few (aside from some of his most die-hard hangers-on) would disagree his life has been anything but a giant joke for the past decade and a half. Between the oxygen tank beds, the shrill girly voice, the missing nose, the "self bleaching" skin. the pet chimps, the theme park back yard, and the ill-informed liberal views and self worship, he (?) is a walking talking parody of Hollyweird.

Michael Jackson the white comedian may not be so far off the mark...

In my book I beat the heck out of the lamestream media for being willing tools of the left.

The worst of them is Dan Broker of CBA News, an old pal of FIdel Castro.

Freepers will love seeing the liberal media portrayed honestly as shills for every radical socialist cause.

I used to watch L&O on A&E, where they are played daily.

You can catch more of a series when you see them daily (as opposed to weekly). I began to loose interest in L&O when I realize that some of the cases they solved would be in the real world almost impossible, and they had to be very lucky, or know the screen writer.

I think the show that "jumped the shark" for me, was the one where a Hispanic teenager had a pacemaker, and the pacemaker failed, he was in an accident, and the homicide detectives got involved somehow.

In the real world, if any action was to be taken, it would be a civil case, but not in the world of L&O.

Turns out that a lead on the pacemaker was corroded, and that was the reason it failed.

Their investigation turned up that the pacemaker was used. In fact it was already taken out of service and had been given to a medical school as a training aid.

A technician at the school, checked it out, and then sold it to a medical supplier, who in turn sold it to a doctor, who in time put it in the chest of the aforementioned teenage Hispanic male, because they were too poor to afford a new one, and because of it, he dies.

Stay with me it gets stranger.

They manage to trace it back to the medical school, to the former patient, and the original source.

It seems that many years before, the leads which were made overseas, while being transported to the US were exposed to sea water, and were damaged.

The small mom and pop operation that were assembling the pacemakers could not afford the lose, and so they checked each and every lead (the mother if I remember correctly was an electrical engineer) and they destroyed the ones they found were damaged, but used the ones that checked ok.

The prosecutor goes after the mother in this case for manslaughter.

Now never mind that the pacemaker worked as it should have for the first patient, and that the pacemaker was given away not to be used, but only as a training aid, they were going to hold this woman responsible.

But here is the kicker, they had no proof that this lead was in fact one of the leads that suffered from sea water damaged.

But, when they searched the old files (that were passed the time the company was required to keep them, they found the smoking gun.

Wow, I am impressed, hundred of man hours used to take these vicious small business people off the street.

Like I said, if there was to be a penalty, it should have been in civil court, not in criminal court.

And many people wonder why I am planning to go live in another country. It may not be the most modern in the world, but at least it is conservative.

Count also how frequently the whites in NYC (New York!!!!) are protrayed as racist and antigay.

Also count how many times the evildoer is a businessman. White of course. Compare with NYPD Blue which has a more balanced (realistic) representation of criminals race.

Yeah I did notice a lot of white perps on law and order. I also watch law and order SVU alot and on one episode they had a mentally challenged black girl who was lured by evil privledged white boys into performing oral sex on them. The black girl then jumps out of a window killing herself. Now come on, law and order needs to get real.

Then the other day I watched a Cops episode (reality show)and it had a big black dude druggie who broke into a house of white people and he was in the home going through jewelry. Well unfortunately for the black dude a buff bodybuilding looking white dude lived there and saw the guy. White guy procedes to kick this black dudes ass in the home and on the front lawn. Neighbors see the commotion and call the cops. The cops come and cuff the black guy who has a bloody face/head and is on the ground. Buff white guy entusiasticly tells the story of the beating and the cops say "nice job man" and laugh about how surprised the black dude musta been when a bigger white guy appeared. Good television.

NYPD Blue was always the better show. The "relationships" and "personal life" side of it has gotten pretty hokey (just repeating the same neurotic patterns over and over again with new -- or the same actors), but the crime side is more realistic, more varied and livelier. Plus, they solve two crimes instead of one (though they leave out all the courtroom stuff, which may be a plus or a minus). Stix doesn't deal with the real questions: How did "Law and Order" get to be such a "chick" show? How'd Wolf manage to make a cop show that guys can't stand?

Anyone who watches L&O regularly knows the show goes out of its way-- way, way out its way-- to portray blacks and other minorities in a positive light. There are few black defendants, and when there are they are not poor and wretched. They're baseball players, political activists, or other successful people.

There's nothing wrong with some variety in story line. Who really wants to watch McCoy prosecute a typical crackhead killer every week? But the show does take place in Manhattan, and the range of defendants over many years is not at all realistic. It's obviously true the show is trying to make a political point.

If you compare L&O to NYPD Blue, you notice a much more realistic range of defendants on NYPD Blue. Of course, NYPD Blue is a more of a boot-licking pro-police show than L&O. It's supposed to be fine with the audience when the cops get frustrated enough to want to beat a man in custody, when Sipowitz's relatives die we're supposed to understand his desire to see the killers dead (but not that of civilian vigilantes), etc.

Anyway, L&O also loves to introduce characters to stump for big, big liberal government. This characteristic was worse in the mid- to late nineties, but you still see it now and then. Whenever the detectives go to check the records of some state agency-- Child Services, Parole, whatever-- you know you're going to hear some poor, conscientious, overworked government employee explain to the detectives how he's got 4 million clients, inadequate time to investigate, etc. New York just doesn't give its bureaucracies nearly enough money, you see.
