Its 4:46am September 6.
Its a little more than 100 hours from the Second Anniversary of Start the World Trade Center Attack and the subsequent Strike on the Pentagon and the Crash in Pennsylvania. 100 hours seems to be a long time; however, it is barely enough to reflect and remember all those who perished on the ground and in the air. Each one of the victims has a story, a life, that if retold would take more than 100 hours to appreciate the richness of their stay on this earth before it was snatched away.
Since 911, there has been more sacrifice. More have taken from this earth this time not in tragedy but in a quest for justice and the expansion of freedom. They were not helpless victims but Heroes of liberation for the Afghanis and Iraqis and protectors of our domestic security.
We would hope that you would take the time and reflect on the lives of those who died on 9-11 and those who have sacrificed their all since that day in these next 100 hours. Please contribute a post of reflection, a prayer, a memorial, a picture or even just a ping to your friends to let them know that 9-11 has not been ignored this year.
Never forget

That's a MUCH BETTER picture. One for the books. I simply can't see x42 doing that unless it was for a political photo-op. W is sincere and the firefighter with him knows it, as we all do.
NEVER FORGET!!!!!

Thanks for doing this. Too many have already forgotten.
So many people's lives were touched that day. I found out that my youngest's preschool teacher had a former student who as an adult was working in the WTC and died. He was a young man just getting going in his family and professional life.
Never forget.

Beautiful thread.
I heard one of the officials on the ground floor of one of the towers say somewhere that the hardest thing for him to forget was making eye contact with a woman jumper just before she hit. I cannot imagine being conscious and aware in that jump all the way to the end. I pray that they are all in a place where they will never know that terror again.
I for one will never forget and never forgive.

Rick Rescorla. He was a hero of the Ia Drang and both terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Indeed he was. You neglected to mention that he was killed in the second WTC attack. He was in charge of security for one of the larger tenents of the building, and got all or virtually all of his people out, but went back to "be sure" and to help other folks. Last seen heading up the stairs, IIRC. He was a Brit by birth, but an authentic American Hero, nonetheless.
I read that he had his folks doing evacuation drills well before 9-11, and it paid off. I imagine that made him popular with the cubical bound..NOT, but I'll bet everyone of them now wishes they could thank him personally. He ordered an evacuation of the second tower to be hit even after the port authority officials told people in that tower to "stay put" after the hit on the first tower.
