Sick 'baptism' before abortions

US abortionists are adopting a disturbing new tactic of promoting a 'baptism'' type ceremony for the aborted baby.
According a report in an American magazine, the new methods involve the use of language more commonly found in counselling for post-abortion syndrome as well as a ritual including a kind of baptism of the aborted baby.
Before the abortion, women are encouraged to express guilt, to write notes to their children about their feelings of empowerment, to grieve and express love for the child.
But US pro-life groups have reacted with disgust to the tactics and a spokesperson for the Campaign Life Catholic roundly condemned the strategy. 'This is the most diabolical twist to the abortion industry so far,' said the spokesperson. 'To use and deform the conscience, even invoking God's forgiveness for unrepented acts of murder, in order to sell their murderous service is a horrific violation of the women who go to them in trust.'

What The Catechism of the Catholic Church says on "Abortion:"
2271. "Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law: You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. [Didache 2, 2: SCh 248, 148; cf. Ep. Barnabae 19, 5: PG 2, 777; Ad Diognetum 5, 6: PG 2, 1173; Tertullian, Apol. 9: PL 1, 319-320.] God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes. [GS 51 # 3.]"
2272. "Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. 'A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae,' [CIC, can. 1398.] 'by the very commission of the offense,' [CIC, can. 1314.] and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. [Cf. CIC, cann. 1323-1324.] The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society."
2274. "Since it must be treated from conception as a person, the embryo must be defended in its integrity, cared for, and healed, as far as possible, like any other human being. Prenatal diagnosis is morally licit, 'if it respects the life and integrity of the embryo and the human fetus and is directed toward its safe guarding or healing as an individual.... It is gravely opposed to the moral law when this is done with the thought of possibly inducing an abortion, depending upon the results: a diagnosis must not be the equivalent of a death sentence.' [CDF, Donum vitae I, 2.]"
2322. "From its conception, the child has the right to life. Direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, is a 'criminal' practice (GS 27 # 3), gravely contrary to the moral law. The Church imposes the canonical penalty of excommunication for this crime against human life."

"According a report in an American magazine"
Beyond sickening if true, in the age of the internet, not providing a link or a source, wreaks of urban legend.
Could you sniff out where this story came from? It would make this thread more powerful.

C'mon. What magazine? Let's have a little integrity, folks. If you're talking about some magazine, tell us what magazine.

I too am skeptical.
These types of people would give the baby no more thought than the piece of gum they scrape off the bottom of their shoe.

I'm also skeptical. I mean if people are going to be so upset about the abortion, why do it in the first place? It's kind of like thinking about killing someone, then going to confession to make it ok.

I tried a search on Google for something similar to this, and found nothing. I think this story from this website is erroneous, at best. That they did not name the magazine seems to me to be evidence that the story is based on something that does not exist.

Isn't this like praying for forgiveness, then gunning someone down in the street? Pathetic.

Gee, I thought there was no baby - only tissue. Why the baptism?
Wonder if they advise the woman to tell her child why she has to take away his/her one chance at life?
Wonder if the convenience of the mother is far more important than giving her son or daughter a chance to experience life here on earth? Wonder if better timing is more important than that child's one chance of life? Wonder if embarrassment of an unwanted pregnancy is far more important than her son or daughter's chance to visit this world.
Or is it far more important to banish that son or daughter to nothingness for ever?

What the abortionsts are doing envisions a picture of Hitler or even Hussein standing before their victims professing their concern for the future of their victims and their families. While acknowledging that although the victims are citizens of the same beloved country as their illustrious leaders, they must die via being tortured, gassed, shot, beheaded, disemboweled, sliced, diced, skinned alive, etc. so their beloved leaders can prove a point to the rest of the country, and the world. The point: that choice in whatever form or whoever decides rules the day with no thought to the evil or moral consequence resulting from choice rules life.

It sounds a little too over the top, but I do recall a story in National Review (when they still cared about such things) in regards to an abortion mill in Kansas that advertised on their website about burial options (for an additional cost) which were traditional cemetary plots.
NR provided a web address which I checked out and verified the story.

I searched the web site of the most infamous abortion provider in Kansas and sure enough he offers this service.
The Chaplaincy program is designed to bring spiritual resources to those who come to the Clinic for help and assistance. Spiritually, abortion is acceptable in ten of the world's religions and in Christianity many denominations affirm and uphold the right of a woman to make the choice of abortion.
The Chaplaincy program works with people from all religious backgrounds as well as those who are not a part of a spiritual tradition. The program offers individual counseling, group counseling and the celebration of spiritual sacraments such as baptism of the still born fetus and blessings for the aborted fetus. The program works with many different religions and is prepared to do, or arrange for, religious services from any spiritual religion. The services of Women's Health Care Serves is a coordinated effort so that every patient and significant other can experience the healing of body, mind and spirit.

Spiritually, abortion is acceptable in ten of the world's religions... Oh, that's rich. The Church of the Three Stooges, the Toilet Paper Cult, and the Grub Worshipers of Borneo say abortion is okay so that means all religious opponents of abortion are relegated to a few loonies on the fringe.
