Oddities mark return of the NFL (Sports Writer Slams Limbaugh With DUMB Commentary)

Odd happenings in the NFL as King Sport's 84th season splays out nationwide this weekend, rolling over the country as subtly as a lava tide, immediately knocking aside baseball's pennant races with a casual, imperial backhand.
Emmitt Smith is no longer in Dallas but Bill Parcells is, the Tampa Bay Bucs are reigning champions -- seven words that still don't sound quite right in sequence -- and ESPN hired ultraconservative radio boor Rush Limbaugh for its pregame show.
Am I the only one who think viewers might pass on Rush?
Nothing against Limbaugh personally, but I wonder: Is it wise to hire as a football analyst a man who believes every play should go to the right?...

Cote the Cootie lets his bias out of the bag....

More accurately, you HOPE viewers will take a pass on Rush. Too bad for you it won't happen.

Oh, you're cracking me up! NOT! Is that as far as Cootie's wit goes?

I watched last night with my father; he seemed to be right on the money (and I even think he predicted the game correctly?)

Considering that this writer is known amongst most sports readers as "Greg COTEX", his commentary is completely befitting of his appropriately adjusted name.

Has anyone noticed that the media can't describe anyone as simply conservative any longer? They now insist on adding "hyper" or "ultra" or some other prefix.

south florida sports writers are not exactly known for their smarts or writing ability. And this is a good example of their pathetic writing. How stupid do you have to be to write something like that? Did Cootie actually chuckle over this line?

Mr. Cote should note that in a typical NFL offense, the
right side is called the "strong side" because that is where the tight end usually lines up in a single tight end offense.
Conversely, the left side of the offense is the weak side.

Here's what struck me as odd in the game last night: the picture quality looked worse than it has since probably the 1960's. All this digital technology, and it looks like utter crap. Don't the producers
see how unacceptably bad it looks?
There was a sight gag in the first Austin Powers movie along these lines...only this is for real!

...the Tampa Bay Bucs are reigning champions -- seven words that still don't sound quite right in sequence --Just what we've all come to expect from snotty South Florida liberals - yet another sneering dig at us unwashed inbred hicks who happen to live north of Palm Beach County.
Nothing against Limbaugh personally, but I wonder:
Whenever a liberal prefaces a statement with this, it's ALL about personal offense, and a set up for an ad hominem attack. IOW, it's the exact opposite of what they say just like when they utter "Everyone agrees that Saddam being out of power is good..."
To: PJ-Comix
The man is clearly an affirmative action hire.

Sheltered lefties still think Rush is "ultra" conservative. They'd pee their pants if they read this forum.

Oh, and another thing, Cote - that's Tampa Bay Buccaneers to you. Asswipe.
To: PJ-Comix
I missed on predicting the game. I'm used to being perennially disappointed by The Deadskins.
It was, however, fun to watch. As for the Sports Whiner in SFla, what a meathead. Nothing against him personally, of course.
I could care less if Jesse Jackson broadcast NFL games as long as he knew the sport and was entertaining to listen to.

Yeah, that was a real knee splapper. I think this guy is the comedic genius who will finally revamp the tired old sitcom format, stale skectch comedy shows, and hackneyed Hollywood comedies... NOT!

Neo-Con is another example of 'language theft.' I don't know who the PR man was that thought that one up, but it is another example of how the left has to distort things to try to advance their agenda.

Actually the term RIGHT WING or ULTRA CONSERVATIVE are mild compared to what I have been hearing concerning the NAZI like tactics USED BY the BUSH Administration. Even the LIBERAL REPUBLICAN Arnold has the NAZI word injected into the media's commentary about him. The TERM is beginning to be very COMMON when talking about Republicans in general.

I don't know, I watched it in High Definition and it was excellent. Maybe you need a new TV.
