I was actually referring to Ms. Siddiqui's husband, Dr. Mohammed Khan, who is referenced in #15. He was also said to be in on al-Shukrijumah's plan. I myself still suspect that al-Shukrijumah may have a crop duster plot of sorts in the works.

Additionally, recall that he was spotted in Florida shortly after the Iraq war began but evaded law enforcement and has been underground ever since. This implies that al-Qaeda still has a US safehouse system intact here in the states nearly two years after 9/11.

Said the same on another thread. 2 years on the lam in the US means support from people already here.

In the meantime, the greatest threat of a terror attack will be when Sharon visits India on 9.11. Boy, would they love to pull something off then.

"the men "should be considered armed and dangerous."

I just finished a new Tom Clancy novel called "The Teeth and the Tiger" and it has a terrorist cell infiltrating into the US with the mission of going to a major shopping mall and cutting loose with Mac-10 smgs. The leader of the group worries about the existence of either plain clothes police or armed citizens and reminds his crew that American's take their handguns very seriously. Guess who shows up as the first rounds rip through the helpless women in Victoria's Secret?

There are times in the south Florida heat and humidity when it is a pure pain in the butt to go suitably armed. The Coconut Grove Gun Show is tomorrow and I plan on checking out a ParaOrdnance C6 or C7 single stack 45 as my answer to light weight but concealable firepower. I remain convinced that such an attack is not only possible but likely. Serious times require serious guns. It is no longer adequate to slip a Seecamp .32 into the front pocket.

I think that the al-Qaeda network here in the US seems to have at least three layers: the financiers, the logistics people and the recruiters, and the actual terrorists. To maintain operational security, I suspect that none of the three know any more about the others than is necessary for carrying out their operations. But the disparity between the number of sleepers that have been arrested in Europe or India or hell, even Pakistan, and the number that have been arrested in the US is too numerous to ignore.

A lot of these cells appear to be set up along either filial or social circles to make them that much harder for law enforcement to infiltrate. But the stories of professional "Arab-looking" (which can mean anything from Arab to Iranian to South Asian) men showing up at Iyman Faris's house seem too numerous to ignore. And Faris was just a minor cog in the US al-Qaeda, God knows what they now know about Ali Saleh al-Marri (now an illegal combatant), whom Khalid Sheikh Mohammed identified as a high-ranking US al-Qaeda leader who answered to his military committee).

Indeed you should.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed identified him shortly after his capture (March 2003) as the man charged with carrying out another 9/11-style attack on the US. The FBI put out a warning on him during the Iraq war and he was evidently spotted in Florida (Tampa, if I recall correctly), but he managed to evade law enforcement. He's a Saudi (surprised) who has a number of different names and passports and it's entirely possible that he's still in the states. The FBI's failure to apprehend him to date is a pretty bad screw-up on the part of the Bureau. I suspect that he's gone underground again, but there is no way in hell he could be in US for the last six months or so completely undetected without him getting help from anyone here.

If the Feds really want to get them just put some surveillance in the drivers license line at the DMV in Sacramento...

Sounds like a plan to me!
