You'd think listening to all the news reports out of Iraq, that things are out of control in Iraq.

Joe Klein in Time magazine going so far as to ask, "Who is losing Iraq?"

I don't know, Joe. But I know this much: We aren't.

"it's even more right to point out what they're dying for. A liberated Iraq. A freer Iraq. A better Iraq"

Cavuto, get your leftie butt off the international stage and stick to reporting on which stock is up or down.

Cavuto, perhaps because of his lack of political experience, makes more common sense than 90% of the commentary I hear out there.

Did I miss a sarcasm tag somewhere?

I can't think of anything more patronizing than a stock show talking head saying how great it is to die for a free Iraq.

That is sickening.

I would disagree on his reason behind a free Iraq rather than assurance they are unarmed, its a nice after effect for the good of the world, but I would hardly condemn the guy for standing up for our soldiers whom many believe what they are doing is richeous and good.

And who says Covuto isnt allowed to have an opinion? The two top Market analysts, Covuto and Lou Dobbs both venture into other areas though Covuto is usually in his own opinion piece at the end.

Only this is a conservative website so posting an article that says what a great noble thing it is to die for a free Iraq should be derided especially when it comes from a tv industry type.

If you call that standing up for our soldiers, you have a very low bar.

No doubt. I think Mr. Cavuto is right on the money -- sorry JG, but at least he knows how to believe in the mission!

Cavuto clearly states that it is his OPINION. Furthermore, he never said, "how great it is to die for a free Iraq."

Unless you are making statements like this in jest or as sarcasm; then you must be a pathetically ignorant moron.

"A liberated Iraq. A freer Iraq. A better Iraq" = An Iraq that is not a major security threat to the US. An Iraq that is a potential ally not a guarenteed enemy.

Our people are fighting and dying for our interests above all.

"...we're missing the good news there? I think we are.

I think it's right to report on U.S. soldiers dying. But it's even more right to point out what they're dying for. A liberated Iraq. A freer Iraq. A better Iraq."

Quit thinking with the heard and practice independent thought.

The juxtaposition of the two lines make my hyperbole "how great it is to die for a free Iraq" completely fair game.

It's a patronizing leftwing attitude to believe its good news for US soldiers to die for another country.

That is not what Cavuto wrote; but I am curious as to why you take issue with me rather that Cavuto?

I can't think of anything more patronizing than a stock show talking head saying how great it is to die for a free Iraq.

He didn't say that. He said that in considering their deaths, its important to consider what they died for. It's the very same, simple rationale you use when a soldier dies anywhere: that they didn't die for no reason. Others may disagree with whether or not their service accomplished anything good, and that's a legitimate point of contention.

But what Cavuto actually said was miles away from your accusation that he said: "how great it is to die for a free Iraq". He didn't say it was "great" to die for anything. So congratulations for beating the crap out of a strawman. That is sickening

So is distorting what someone says to make a cheap point.

The soldiers who have died in Iraq, died defending the United States.

If you can't see the danger in Cavuto's liberal rational, God Help Us.
