Miguel Estrada Withdraws Application for Appeals Court Appointment
Fox News on the air
Posted on 09/04/2003 8:49:58 AM PDT by CometBaby
The Democrats have slapped hispanics all across the United States across the face, with their treatment of Miguel Estrada.
They inferred he was dishonest and "not forthcoming" because he refused to humiliate himself by answering the horrible, petty questions they were demanding answers to. He was the first hispanic ever nominated for the SC .. and they wouldn't even allow it to come to a vote. The Democrats shamefully filabustered him for 28 months!! They insulted him with cooked up accusations .. until he finally withdrew his application in total frustration.
After he withdrew, Ted Kennedy quickly went before the cameras and called this honorable man, who was endorsed by Democrats, an "extreme idealog". This just adds insult to injury!
Democrats simply did everything they could to destroy an Hispanic applicant who was appointed by GW Bush. It was strictly polical. What a disgrace for the Democratic party. Shame, shame, shame!
Hispanics have a very strong sense of right and wrong. They know that the Democratic party has used them and taken them for granted. I'm proud that the GOP continues to reach out to Hispanics, and I am confident they will continue to move to the Republican party.

And that Bush never really fights for these people is an even greater shame.

I believe that this is only the primer needed for Bush to announce he will recess appoint ALL judges until things change in the Senate.

It was federal district court, not SC.

I know why the dems worked to block it, but why did the Senate Repubs not stand up to them, and why didn't Bush use a recess appointment?

Democrats simply did everything they could to destroy an Hispanic applicant who was appointed by GW Bush. And the Repubilcan WIMPS spent very litle energy and capital helping him. The government should have come to a complete stop until the Dem's were ready to hold a vote. Shameful Frisk my A**

Yes, this is one of the worst of Bush's failures. One of the main reasons I worked hard for his victory was to get better judges.
And now he has us groveling before the UN asking for help. And he wants us to pay billions of dollars to reconstruct an oil-rich country. What happened to the billions they found in Iraq? Where is the billions in oil revenue going? Why does America sleep through all this? How can we have any hope for our futures as we sink into a pit of debt and world government?

And that Bush never really fights for these people is an even greater shame Huh, I guess to you that the democrats have thrown out 200 years of Senate precedent means nothing to you.
Oh, that's right it is Bush's fault that the demo's did that.

Fox got me mad with this story. They first gave airtime to the very RATS (Schumer and Kennedy, whose very sight is enough to get by blood boiling) who hosed this nomination, so they could fill the airways with their lies and excuses, then they went on to inverview a RAT sycophant. Not a word from the good guys! I had to turn off the television at this point and check out this site just to cool off a bit!

This forum is littered with viable strategies for getting these judges through on a majority vote, e.g., by rules change. The Bush apologists kept telling us we had a long-term, winning strategy. Now we lose big, and long before election, so it won't even be remembered.
When are you people going to wake up and start giving Bush hell? If we don't protest Bush from the right, he'll keep moving to the Left. The squeaky wheels get the grease.

Oh, that's right it is Bush's fault that the demo's did that. Tell us how and what he did to stop it? Tell us how he took it to the American People.
To: Italics
Why because they didn't have 60 votes of course! 60 votes was not needed to confirm Estrada a simple majority would have been enough. The republicans should have forced the socialists to filibuster as they had threatened

Just a thought, but I suspect that this will be a political issue in 2004. A $200 million dollar war chest can buy a lot of Spanish language air time.

Christians and Hispanics are not worthy of being on the bench. Democrats will allow only the theiving, murdering, lieing, crimminal element of the white elite to hold that position (unless they can find a loyal African American to do their bidding).
Imagine what would happen if the liberal activists on the bench were not allowed to dictate democrat policies? The voters could never be controled! They may follow the Constitutrion, that old, worn out document that's no longer necessary. The doctrine of political correctness must remain the norm. It's the only way to keep the socialist revolution on the right track.
