This is an outrage. The Democrats should pay in the next election for this.

This is an outrage. Our Republicans should have xrays to prove they actually have guts.

If so, with any luck it'll be a Pyrrhic victory.

Really shows the clay feet of the Republicans, that they can be defeated by a fake filibuster.

Well, if there were 67 Republican senators, I am sure he would have gotten in. (sarcasm)

This is an outrage. The Democrats should pay in the next election for this.Yes, but on the duplicate thread, many of the weak Conservatives are threatening to throw in the towel, playing right into the Democrat strategy.

I'm sure Dashole is "saddened" by this, if only Estrada would have kissed his arse.
Clearly, Bush was given fully opportunity to exercise his powers to make the appointment during the recess but failed to act. It is a shame.

What a shame; he was a fine nominee.
The Rats are more less tolerant than any group of people I know, but have somehow been able to sway the voting public that it is the Republicans who are intolerant.

Well, the Republicans will really be able to get things done when we have all 100 seats in the Senate and all of the 435 seats in the house. Boy, oh boy, you'll see some really big changes then. Yes Sir, watch out! The conservative tidal wave is going to wash over Washington. Just you wait and see, Mister. Big changes.

I cannot believe that the White House would have approved this.

Clearly, Bush was given fully opportunity to exercise his powers to make the appointment during the recess but failed to act.A recess appointment would have been temporary. Most judicial nominees wouldn't be interested in quitting their current jobs for a temp job.

... many of the weak Conservatives are threatening to throw in the towel, playing right into the Democrat strategy. I thnk the threat has more than one facet. Expressing a wish that the politicos legislate from conservative principles sometimes encourages them to legislate from conservative principles.
