I don't know who Kyra Sedgewick is, but "Secondhand Lions" looks like it is going to be a good movie.

Personally I wouldn't go to any of these movies anyway, but I do have a (minor) problem with this sort of boycott. That is, in ANY movie, ANY product, ANY company or whatever you can find people with similar anti-american views. Or pro- abortionists, or socialists, or take your pick of dozens of positions I disagree with.

Admittedly the idea here is to take a swipe at the high profile folks, but let's say there's a movie - say a Heston or Gibson flick - where the support staff holds views totally opposite to mine, and they are very vocal about it. Should I boycott that as well?

Or say the production company is run by a high profile, vocal person with opposite views, but the movie stars are on my side. Would I boycott that to send a message to the company or go to see it to support the actor?

Just something that's been bothering me recently. As far as I'm concerned if someone wants to boycott these films I say go for it!

Wouldn't be easier to list movies not to boycott, if any.

I would join the boycott of Hollywood leftists, except then I'd be stuck in a room listening to nothing but Britney Spears the rest of my life....

I havent gone to the movies in twenty years and I refuse to rent the trash.
Entertainers as well as so called professional atheletes are spoiled brats and set bad examples for our children who try and emulate them and I refuse to spend my money on such scum.

Of course I'm going to boycott the Human Stain!
Who'd go to a movie about Clinton?

The Human Stain
Release Date: September 26, 2003 (NY, LA)
Studio: Miramax Films
Starring: Ed Harris

Sounds like an ideal venue for Bill Clinton to get a cameo appearance.

OK, let me see if I got this straight:

I’m supposed to boycott all movies cuz at least one actor/producer/director rails against the POTUS and/or America and cuz another FReeper told me I should.

I’m supposed to boycott Wally-World cuz they insist on importing stuff from China and cuz another FReeper told me I should.

I’m supposed to boycott almost all kinds of Music cuz at least one artist/producer/distributor rails against the POTUS and/or America and cuz another FReeper told me I should.

I’m supposed to boycott K-Mart cuz they quit selling guns and had Rosie O’Donut as a spokesman and cuz another FReeper told me I should.

I’m supposed to boycott every Television show in existence (I think Mr. Roger’s neighborhood and the really old westerns are still OK, but I might be wrong) cuz at least one actor/producer/director/sponsor rails against the POTUS and/or America, or they showed a naked bum, or said a naughty word and cuz another FReeper told me I should.

I’m supposed to boycott every product connected (however slight) to either France, Germany, Belgium and/or the Netherlands cuz they said/did something to offend the POTUS and/or America and cuz another FReeper told me I should.

I’m supposed to boycott almost every sponsor's product that ever advertised on said television show, or movie, or radio, or billboard, cuz another FReeper told me I should.

Well no offense guys, But if I were to boycott everything that I was told to boycott, I would be able to do nothing but sit on a bare concrete floor, naked, and twiddle my thumbs.
And believe me, that is NOT a pretty picture.

So, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll decide which products/movies/TV shows/music/etc.etc.etc. I boycott.

Thanks anyway, Cuz

OK, I went to PABAAH! to see what Heath Ledger said/did, and it doesn't say. I assume it's in the restricted portions, but I'm sick and tired of registering with every site I visit.

May I add a new video release to your list of avoidables?: "Analyse That" with Robert De Niro. It is the worst kind of R rated, Hollyweird soft porn and filthy language plus bloody mob killings I have seen in some time. INMO If this is another example of American culture, then America is in deep trouble and pure evil is exerting its muscle big time.

Don't plan to spend my hard earn cash on any of the movies listed. First, the actors don't inspire me to want to watch them after their latest antics in real life. Second, the cost of movies at $8.50 or $5.50 for matinee is just too darn high like the price of gas. No way, no how, no chance am I spending my precious bucks.

I find it very easy to boycott ALL movies. No going to theatres or rentals. If you really must, they are on tv after awhile
