[history]
You don't have to be one of those Californians who believes the road to recall ran through a looking glass to feel as if the current campaign just gets curiouser and curiouser. [snip]...Take [t]he five-page exchange [that] occurred in 1977 and appeared in a mercifully forgotten magazine called Oui, which Playboy had rolled out as a kind of raunchier younger brother to its flagship publication. ...[snip] In an extended taped conversation with freelance writer Peter Manso, [Schwarzenneger] employed a virtually endless stream of lewd and vulgar expressions to describe his attitudes toward women and sex, his intimate physiology - in graphic detail - and a number of specific sexual experiences.

In political terms, it is what the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan once called "mainstreaming deviancy."
That's what it is - - - the GOP's embracing this guy is part of the "mainstreaming deviancy" phenomenon.

If he had given the interview yesterday, it would most definitely turn off women voters. But 26 years ago? Only a few will care, IF they bother to read it.

According to the liberals "Clinton and his deviancy" aroused women voters while "Arnold and his deviancy" may "turn off women voters."
LOL!!
To: churchillbuff
The Times survey found that 50 percent of the women likely to vote on Oct. 7 currently have an unfavorable impression of Schwarzenegger, while 41 percent have a favorable view. Does this suggest that 41% of California woman are "deviant?"

We have Clinton - a Democrat - to thank for forcing us to have to explain to our childrenwhat oral sex is, or what was on the blue dress, etc. Now we'll have a whole new set of terms, thanks to a so-called "Republican". Stuff like gang bang and why posing nude is OK if you're going to run for governor, etc.

It's called defining deviancy down

What's all this about? Source? Where have you been!? See Oui Magazine interview, Premiere Magazine writeup and photos of Arnold groping, and just search the internet for the nude photos (see newsfilter.org to start). Arnold has posed nude along with a nude woman. Some of the nudes he posed for were for a gay magazine. This is old news, but relevant. If Clinton's lack of character and improper behavior were relevant, then Arnold's lack of character and improper behavior are also relevant. Unless, of course, you believe that an (R) after your name means you're without fault.

That is one picture that none will ever dare post on this site. Actually, I've posted a link to one of the nude photos before without any complaint and the post was not pulled.

Can't post the photo. It's from an old body-building magazine. Ahnuld is striking a muscle-man pose, completely nude, with his, uhh, err, "package" fully visible.
A Google Image search for Arnold Nude should pop it up for you. I have a copy printed on a poster, with the slogan:
Vote for Ahnuld!
The Candidate with
Nothing to Hide.
My wife made a pointed comment about a comparison of, shall we say, virtues. I had no reply.

According to Arnold-bot "Republicans" , Arnold's deviancy - good; Clinton's deviancy - bad. Shows how Arnold's candidacy is "mainstreaming deviancy" for the GOP.

The GOP has fallen a long way from Lincoln. We're in the Clinton leagues now - - and the Arnold-bots think that's just dandy.

Both Clinton and OJs popularity "increased" among women with each accusation
In Cali ?...it will probably increase his popularity -among the "young and dumb"
imo

That's the problem. We need a candidate of character who will raise people up, not appeal to lowest common denominator. Arnold's not the one.
