First Post-Saddam Iraq Cabinet Take Oath of Office

Sept. 3 — BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's first line-up of ministers to replace the ousted government of Saddam Hussein formally took office on Wednesday, vowing to lead the country to democratic self-rule.

Ibrahim al-Jaafari, outgoing head of the U.S.-appointed Governing Council that is to supervise the ministries in consultation with Iraq's U.S.-led occupiers, described their appointment as a step toward meeting the needs of Iraqis neglected under Saddam.

"Exceptional effort is demanded from every minister, and that he work for the rebuilding of Iraq, and do all that is needed to meet the needs of its people," he said, before the 25 members of the cabinet took their oath of office, pledging to serve the country and its people.

The ministers -- whose backgrounds reflect the country's mix of Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims, as well as Kurds, Turkmens and other minorities -- will be accountable to the Governing Council, but ultimate power lies with U.S. governor Paul Bremer until there is an elected government.

Many of the new ministers are returned Iraqi exiles whose foreign education and professional backgrounds have been touted as the right qualifications for posts previously stocked with Saddam loyalists.

Another, mostly unheralded, step forward.

Things are progressing in Iraq despite the efforts of terrorists' to stir up so much chaos that we would give up and leave before our mission is completed. Its too bad the Democrats can't stand behind our military and the exemplary job the Coalition Provisional Authority has been doing in Iraq.

Its too bad the Democrats can't stand behind our military and the exemplary job the Coalition Provisional Authority has been doing in Iraq.

Almost all, there are a very few exceptions, are leftists. Leftists can't tell the truth because they would never gain power if the public knew their true intentions. Therefore, they can't espouse positions unless they disguise them as something good, which they are not.

When it comes to the military they always cut it when they are in power for two reasons. They don't want us to be the strongest country in the world because that gives us too much sway over their Communist friends and highlights the glaring differences in our economic power compared to "the peoples paradise". Two, they want to use the defense budget money to buy votes from victim groups they create.

When they are not in power, having no policies of their own to offer for the above reason, they are simply chronic complainers. Their goal is to regain power by destroying those in power. If they destroy the country in the process, so much the better. They never liked the country anyway. Too much individual freedom for their taste. Since they know what is best for everyone, they must have power over everyone in order to make them do "what is best for them."

Just as Ann Coulter exposed the liberal bias and their peddling of lies in her book, Slander, she once again nails them in her latest book, Treason: Liberal treachery from the cold war to the war on terror. They are always on the side of our enemies and are always promoting policies that are bad for America.

We need to stop treating them as moral equals and start treating them for the lying, anti-American scum they are.

Representative government, not just the psychopathic Hussein gene grease trap.

Throwing out the Ba'ath water.
