CONTROLLING AIRSPACE U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Liza Thaggard, an air traffic controller with the 447th Expeditionary Operational Support Squadron, controls the airspace from the radar approach control at Baghdad International Airport. The control operation is responsible for 100 miles of airspace around the airport and controls all air traffic into, through, and out of the area. Our men and women are doing a fantastic job in Iraq. So much more than the media will report. But things are progressing at rates that even CNN did a report today on how smoothly things are going these days in northern Iraq. (gasp!) I loved it!!!!!
Before we know it, that kind of reporting will be the norm.
