Part one of an exclusive four-part series of excerpts. Clinton administration counter-terrorism czar Richard Clarke attended a meeting with Secretary of Defense William Cohen, Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Attorney General Janet Reno, and others. Several others were in the room, including Leon Fuerth, Gore's national security advisor; Jim Steinberg, the deputy National Security Advisor; and Michael Sheehan, the State Department's coordinator for counterterrorism. An American warship had been attacked without warning in a "friendly" harbor

The "Justice [Department] also noted, as always, that any use of force had to be consistent with international law, i.e. not retaliation but self protection from future attack,"

Accept of course militant religious groups and cuban refugees. International laws are superior to national laws.

What a despicable group!

Yes - it's true Clinton gutted the military but "here's a lovely beret, just like the one my mistress wears."

"An American warship had been attacked without warning in a "friendly" harbor..."

I thought Yemen was considered one of the most dangerous of the Arab countries.

"Funny about the Clinton. He apologized for everything under the sun, including apologizing for slavery to the people who captured and sold the slaves, yet he never apologized for anything he actually did."

LOL

So now it is Bush's fault that Clinton did nothing about the terrorists too? I see, everything is his fault right? He is fighting the war on terror, and I must say without much help from a large number of people who should know better!!!!

"State noted that we had been bombing Iraq and Serbia and were getting the reputation internationally as a mad bomber nation"

Hmmmm? What was that Hitlery was spouting recently about Bush undoing everything they had done .. guess she didn't realize how truthful she was (for a change).

Well, from the sound of things, it certainly seems to be his fault that Clinton himself had no interest in business and so little comprehension for economics that he kept Alan Greenspan as his Fed Chairman, benefited from technological developments that produced an unprecendented increase in productivity and managed to screw everything up by tightening regulations and increasing taxes. The result was a recession that was into its second quarter when President Bush took office, but "it's still the economy, stupid," right?
