Seems as if too many of Coulter's critics got their information on McCarthy from the TV smear-movie
Tail-Gunner Joe starring Peter Boyle as McCarthy.
O'Reilley's "research" did not even go that far!

Ann Coulter is a political lightening rod, but usually nails the truth more often then not. Her pronouncements of liberals is spot on.
And while O'Reilly is right most of the time, he's a big mouthed, populist blowhard who opens his trap before he thinks and looks foolish on many issues.
To: hinterlander
Coulter shot back: "Name one." O'Reilly balked for a moment, then boldly proclaimed: "I'll name one. Dalton Trumbo." I'll name three: George C. Marshall, Dean Acheson and (yes) Dwight Eisenhower.

SPOTREP - "you go girl"

It was Rabinowitz' editorial that prompted me to read "Treason". My respect for both ladies could not endure not resolving the issue.
When I read the book, I concluded:
1) If Coulter recited the evidence accuratey, no thinking person could conclude Moss was not a Communist
2) Rabinowitz either did not read the book, or was on prescription pain killers when she wrote her editorial.
As Ann put it in an interview: it's done. McCarthy is rehabilitated. It's over.
Next.

The great thing about Ann's works is that she documents everything. She uses the libs words to nail them. The references and index in her latest "Treason" comprise 62 pgs of the book. Something no lib would ever do to confirm their statements.
She deals in FACTS, not myths and emotionalism.
She stopped O'Reilly in his own no spin zone. How about that.

And despite his embarrassing, boneheaded blunder, to my knowledge O'Reilly has never acknowledged it nor changed his view of McCarthy and Ann Coulter. He's no enemy of spin and no enemy of lies.
To: hinterlander
Until I read "Treason," I had no idea that McCarthy had been wrongly defamed. O'Reilly should also read the book so he doesn't look so ignorant the next time Anne is on.
When Anne appears on a tv show, she is seldom given the opportunity to explain the true facts of the McCarthy case. It's staggering the way history has been written to demonize him.
Everyone needs to read this very complex book, including Dorothy Rabinowitz. In fact, I wish a new movie could be made exonerating McCarthy.
To: aculeus
The question was:
When Fox News's Bill O'Reilly said McCarthy "demonized people who didn't deserve to be demonized," Coulter shot back: "Name one." O'Reilly balked for a moment, then boldly proclaimed: "I'll name one. Dalton Trumbo."
I just want us to be careful, did McCarthy assert that Eisenhower et al. were communists on merely demonize them - as happens every day in politics?
To: Sans-Culotte
Did Michael Moore do that one? ;-)

Coulter's book was well done, engaging, fact-driven, and a grand good read. She's fiesty, she doesn't take any crap, and she upsets the RATS. You GO girl!
