Incredibly bad choices of performers, without question. (Though I think the bigger mistake was in announcing "surprise musical guests" in the first place, which always makes people expect something much better than they end up getting.) But in the end, is it going to stop anyone from buying a Harley tomorrow?

...if they are as small a minority as they pretend to be.

And they pretend to be a much larger minority than they actually are.

Nothing says Harley Davidson like an overweight fifty year old gay male from England. Maybe all those biker men like playing hide the sausage with eachother.

It was pretty clear for the past two weeks that the "Big Star" would be Elton John. Anything else was pure speculation.

I had a chance to go, but decided to stay home and watch T.V. instead.

Maybe Harley Davidson could make a specially painted pink motorcycle.

'who even likes country music in the biker crowd'

Well heck lotsat my buds like REAL country...the older stuff up through the outlaws, urban cowbay and even into the 80's.

After that wimmin took over the format, and while some of the new guys have the sound, they don't have the soul.

As far as Elton goes it was a mistake but probably won't come back to bite H-D. As someone else pointed out he probably - and sadly - DOES appeal to Yuppie Bikers (YIKERS).

As for me my next will proobably be an Indian if I can afford it, Honda GW if not (at least they have lots of American parts)or an older H-D if I get nostalgic.

Gay people, and this is just something I have observed, truly think everyone sees things through their lense.

It works for us!

Supremely smart marketing:

Gays aquire, on average, much higher incomes that straights; they rarely spawn, and thus have a permanent DINK situations...unless they buy a kid; they are much more apt to embellish themselves with trendy 'butch' accessories, wear leather, upgrade often, and use dealer services to keep their hands clean. At $40,000, there ain't many heterosheetrock guys who're gonna have the effective demand for the cycles. MO

I guess Harley figured it would lure over the Vespa crowd.

Sounds about right.

Kid Rock? Elton John?

Harleys are for pussies. Cycles in general are.

Perfect music selection.

Harley's are too expensive for me anyhow. Plus I was always a cafe rider.

Too many poseurs on hogs today....it warms my heart to occasionally see the real deal flying a patch and all grizzled reaching over for his suicide clutch. Around here that means "Outlaws".

Anyhow, many real hog bikers do like cuntry but more the real deal like Merle, Coe, Waylon and Willie and stuff like that....not the McGraw pop-cuntry....although he does get a nod for having good taste in women and being from Louisiana.

If I were him and got up every morning and looked at my ugly mug in the mirror and then glanced back at what I left curled up in the sheets, I'd say a little prayer of thanks.....come to think of it....Tim and I have a lot in common in that respect.

Ugly hombres who get babes...there is hope in this world.

Kid Rock??...well "Cowboy" was sort of fun and he's not ashamed to be white even if he is wading in a black music genre.
