I stay away from the Love Ride...to many RUB's and idiot kids on groudpounders in one place. But glad you had a good time. I saw Steppenwolf at the 50th Anniversay of the so-called Hollister riot. Sounded just like the orginal record.

One more damned time, Harley doesn't even make a motorcycle that costs $40,000. Stop perpetuating this myth.
For 2004, the most expensive Harley is the Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide, from the Custom Vehicle Operations. $28,595. $28,795 in California.
Every year CVO cherries out two bikes from the HD linup and sells as limited edition customs. This is one, and even it's a far cry from $40,000.
For regular bikes, Harley's (2004) line starts at $6,495 for the XLH-883, and tops out at $19,595 for the big bagger, the FLHTCUI. Less than half of this $40,000 BS.
For mainstream bikes the V-Rod is $17,695. The Low Rider is, $14, 995. The Softail Classic is $16,999. So please, let this $40,000 BS die.

In my book when Phil Carson walks through the biker bar to access the back alley, they are playing Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" (for the 8 millionth time) on the juke box.

Aarrgh, my head hurts just thinking about it. My riding buddies refuse to ride behind me. :-)

I had a picture of Elton riding in on the back of a Harley, arms around some big fat bearded biker wearing a:
" If you can read this the B#tch fell off" T shirt.
Elton has on the T shirt that reads:
" I'm the B#tch".

To: MikeAnon222
Elton John represents Harley? I don't think I'll ever see a macho looking Harley rider again without snickering a little.

If they don't have side air-bags and a rollbar, I don't want any part of them.

Was
this your post on Yahoo Stocks message board for HDI?
I have been making a ton on HDI in the last month. I bought it in early July expecting a runup with the hot sales and this party.

I forgot there were two custom glides with my buddies paint on them that were $40,000. The V-rods were $28,000 I do not know what made them $28,000. I looked on the web site they were listing for $18,000 sorry for the confusion. They look good.

Elton John? Maybe for Disney's 100th, but Harley?
I figured it would be Montrose, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros, etc. HARD ROCK or SOUTHERN ROCK.

I disagree Tim Mcgraw is biker friendly. Some of his songs sound Southern Rockish. Everybody knows that Lynyrd Skynyrd would have pleased the masses.

This is obviously the first episode in Queer eye for the Biker guy. The world is clearly coming to a screeching halt. Toyotas in NASCAR, Elton John playing for bikers and a Ten Commandments free zone in Alabama. Not to mention the move to get under God taken out of the Pledge.
We really need to defend our way of life. I really hope we all send the proper message in 2004. If we mobilize, Peter Jennings is gonna think we had more than a tantrum.

I don't think even gay bikers listen to Elton John.

That depends on which Elton John you're talking about. If you're talking about the Elton John that sang Tiny Dancer, lots of bikers love that guy. If you're talking about the Elton John that sang Candles in the Wind, bikers aren't big on him.

Even the names for Harleys have gay overtones.
- Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide
- V-Rod
- The Low Rider
- The Softail
Names more fitting for products sold in a sex shop than for a motorcycle.
I wonder if that is accidental? HD have had a huge gay following since the sixties and are an instrumental part of the Gay Leather-Man/Bear subculture.
Certainly not effete though. Look at Rob Halford, gay as a goose.
To: Melas
You know, there are other kinds of motorcycles in the world than cruisers and sport bikes. For example, I own a Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom. It's of the "giant-trailie" design that's rather popular in Europe. Pretty tall seat height, but then I'm a big guy. 1000cc 90 degree v-twin makes about ~95 rwhp, about 540 lbs full of fuel, it'll whip any of the big V-Twin cruisers made by the major manufacturers, including the VTX-1800 and the V-Rod, especially when we get to the corners. And it's comfy, practical for touring, and only costs about $8,000.
