Have I told you lately that I love you.... ;)
How is it that we can go through life taking for granted all of those wonderful people that make life worth living, without ever telling them? How could we be so distracted that we overlook the importance of the devotion, caring, and warmth that our loved ones provide?
What would you do if tomorrow they were simply gone, vanished ..forevere..? How would you feel? What was the last thing you said to them? What would you say to bring them back? What would you do differently?
What if I told you that it isn't too late to say what you really feel to all of the special people that make such a difference in your world.....
...and to all of those special souls that are waiting for us...
Tell them... tell them now...
Have I told you.. how much I love you Freepers..
well, just in case.. I'm telling you now... I love you.... sealed with a kiss

I'm listening now and cannot tell you how much I appreciate the link. Cried most of the way home and when I felt all tears were expended I listened to "Letting Go" and the flood gates have reopened. He's our only child which makes it twice as difficult. It's amazing how quickly they adjust to new friends and new surroundings and I'm sure he will be just fine (his parents are another matter).
Thanks again for your kindness and understanding.

Star, I have been thinking of you since I read your post. I am so glad you enjoyed the program. It is helpful each year at this time when they do it. I hope you were comforted at least by hearing other's in the same situation.
I have five children, but when I sent my son (second from last child), it was almost unbearable. He is our only son, and a super young man. I got so quiet the week before he left. I knew it was silly, but I still couldn't help myself. I saw him as our little boy who had pet frogs and who came to me on his 12th birthday and asked if he could ask me a question. I said " of course you can"...and he announces...(kind of scared like).." Ahhh, Mom ? Every night you and Dad come in my room and tuck me in and kiss me, right?" .."yes honey"...." Ahhh, Mom? Today I am 12, and would it be alright if I came and kissed you out here, and you wouldn't have to tuck me in and kiss me in my room ? " (swallow)..Well !! I almost lost it when he said that, cause I knew it was hard for him.
I thought of that the night before he left to go out to the pack of wolves that were sure to devour him at the big college where I wouldn't be !! But guess what? That boy from that day on his 12th birthday, all through college, and until he married, never missed a night of coming up to me before he went to bed, and giving me a kiss and a hug ! Oh boy, now I am starting to tear up !!
It is hard " letting go " , isn't it ! We are all so blessed. We all see them as little toe heads and a scrap book of memories when they turn and walk into thier lives. We want to keep holding them, or rocking them when they get hurt. I think they know that.
I am sure you will see a big change in him in the months to come, and I can tell by your mention of him, and your heart laying bare, just what a good Mom you are. That will always be your gift to your boy.
Thanks for sharing with all of us. I will be thinking of you in the days ahead.

I haven't posted much because I have been reading all of your comments one by one as they unfolded. I am bursting my buttons, at the possibility that I may have clumsily stumbled into a wonderful opportunity for all of my dear FRiends to unleash your own emotions.
I am not at all ashamed to tell you that I have been sitting here alternating between tears and laughter, sadness and pride.
Can anyone reading these posts deny that FReepers are the most amazing people in the world? There isn't a website anywhere on the WWW were you can find such warmhearted, intelligent, savvy.. stubborn, funny, wacky folks to gather in one place, that have so little yet so much in common...
One sure thing, ...there is at least one binding attribute that is shared by everyone that has responding to this thread....
LOVE for each other..
Sheeesh.. I hope none of the guys from my old neighborhood in Chicago, are reading any of my squishy posts, I'll never be able to go back home again... :) Thank you, I really love you guys..
