Have I told you lately that I love you.... ;)
How is it that we can go through life taking for granted all of those wonderful people that make life worth living, without ever telling them? How could we be so distracted that we overlook the importance of the devotion, caring, and warmth that our loved ones provide?
What would you do if tomorrow they were simply gone, vanished ..forevere..? How would you feel? What was the last thing you said to them? What would you say to bring them back? What would you do differently?
What if I told you that it isn't too late to say what you really feel to all of the special people that make such a difference in your world.....
...and to all of those special souls that are waiting for us...
Tell them... tell them now...
Have I told you.. how much I love you Freepers..
well, just in case.. I'm telling you now... I love you.... sealed with a kiss

I am so sorry folks.. Sometimes I just can't help it... thanks...:) You have nothing to be sorry for, Carlo my FRiend. And now you also have the weight of my own wishes and prayers for your son's safe journey and return, though I have little doubt you've prepared him as well as you could for his entry into a sometimes cruel world.
And we are not alone, not by a long shot. Dozens, maybe hundreds of others now know of your concern, and have added theirs to it. The unfortunate or unthinkable could still occur, of course, but not from inattention.

Don't you suppose that you actually remembered his birthday somewhere in the back of your mind? I do think it's a wonderful coincidence that both you and your other brother were thinking about the one you lost on his birthday.
Just based on my own experience, I have become closer to my siblings as we've all gotten older. My dad reconciled with his own brother after many years of being estranged when the brother had a non-fatal heart attack. At some point you realize that all the things that drove you crazy about each other really don't amount to a hill of beans.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers be with you.
Please know that your brother is in a place where there is absolutely NO anger, and none whatsoever directed at you. Do not let yourself become overwhelmed with guilt or remorse over your last few words. Forgive yourself and try to think of all the good times you shared. I'm sure that's what your brother would want.
God be with you. And I sincerely wish you all the best.

it's the price he has to pay for having an old Italian dad.. ....OH you old sentimental puppy you!!!!
....same thing I tell my old Italian husband when he gets all mushy.
....Of course that's only about 10% of the time. The other 90% of time I'm ready to drown him in a kettle of pasta sauce!!!!!!

No.
It didn't bore me, because my brother was a schizophrenic and it helped me to understand how terrifying it must be for the person who is ill. I know it's terrifying to watch someone you love suffer with it, in part because it's so unpredictable (what's he going to do next, why is the phone ringing at 1:00AM THIS time, etc.) and it impacts everyone in a family.
But you're not a bad person for being bored, no. : )
