The map on the link you provided is called "New Aztlan". I think that differs from the "Aztlan" that is referred to the "stolen" land, that which was transfered by treaty....but again, I am not sure and so am looking for facts.

Liberals today are fast and loose with the term "Empirialist". The aquisition of southern Texas, New Mexico and California was probably the last time the U.S. actually engaged in empire building. Santa Anna had been dispatched and the remaining Mexican officials were happy to hear that we weren't interested keeping the whole country. They actually offered the dictatorship to Winfield Scott, the Commanding General of the U.S. forces, which took Mexico City (there was a relatively minor battle at Mexico City, after three larger battles on the way from Veracruz, where the navy had dropped them off.)

Here is the map again with the explanation under it (sorry)

The myth of Aztlan can best be explained by California's Santa Barbara School District's Chicano Studies textbook, "The Mexican American Heritage" by East Los Angeles high school teacher Carlos Jimenez. On page 84 there is a redrawn map of Mexico and the United States, showing Mexico with a full one-third more territory, all of it taken back from the United States. On page 107, it says "Latinos are now realizing that the power to control Aztlan may once again be in their hands."

Shown are the "repatriated" eight or nine states including Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington. According to the school text, Mexico is supposed to regain these territories as they rightly belong to the "mythical" homeland of Aztlan.

Here ya go.. this link will help you the best. It is a complicated issue, but this kind of dices it up nicely.

I've studied this group for a couple years. These people are DANGEROUS. The biggest shocker for me today.. was to know they already have people in political office who WILL NOT deny affiliation with MEChA!! So now we know about the congressman in Arizona. Now Bustamante. Who else do they have in public office? What other LAWMAKERS and POLICY MAKERS are in office?

Thanks. Now if the LEFTIST ignorant media will talk about CURRENT events instead of Arnolds DEAD deadbeat Dad whose funeral he didn't even attend.. and talk about this dangerous group who Bustamante will not even distance himself from, then perhaps we will get somewhere!!

Some of us on FR have been extremely worried about this group since before 9-11!!

If Busty had simply come out and said he joined MEChA in the 1970s to meet girls, perhaps his association could be overlooked. What's interesting is that he apparently has said he's still affiliated with this group.

I thought Boost-yer-taxes said he was STILL affiliated with MEChA, but I could be wrong.

Ineresting. These "Aztlanians" make the same claim to the southwestern US that the "Palestinians" make on Israel.

When I have a chance, I'll try to find the link I was in yesterday that showed the "unity" and "brotherhood" they feel with the Palestinians and their cause. You my FRiend HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD on this one. They talk about it all the time!!!

If I don't remember.. just remind me.

We are off to watch a movie we rented.

More later. FRegards

We know what "MECHA" has to say. This is going around on the net and should serve as a response to "MECHA":
