Electricity was restored to London within an hour of the outage, which was blamed on a failure in the National Grid. But the city's transport services were badly affected.

London Mayor Ken Livingstone estimated that 250,000 people were caught in the London Underground when the outage hit at about 6:15 p.m. (1:15 p.m. ET) as commuters were heading home from work.

There appears to be a National Grid connection. And a French connection. Although I do not believe that this was some French anti American anti UK scheme, I certainly would not discount the possibility that with the SUBSTANTIAL radical Islamic population in France, many of them with technical backgrounds, that some National Grid insiders might have something to do with both the UK and US outages. The US outage is now being labelled "human error" which does not discount subtle (non physical but operational mode) sabotage. First Engergy have stridently claimed that they were not the root of the problem and that their systems were stressed by events elsewhere in the NE overall grid. Do we now take another look at Mohawk?

Myself and two other seasoned electrical engineers considered this today as well. Not based on any technical information, but simply the odds of such occurances within the realms of reliability theory tend to lend credance to CT. (conspiracy theory as opposed to current transformer)

Makes one wonder how many events might be terrorist caused, but not reported in national media.

For example, and I'm speaking from ignorance, but the following situations without investigating them don't seem to add up.

1) One pipeline failure in Arizona drives up cost of gasoline by 40% in the western US within a week.

2) Cleveland claims it didn't have sufficient water after the East Coast power outage and was discussing trucking bottled water. (flies in the face of Y2K preparations and the mechanics required to maintain fire main water pressures in a municipality, where's the water storage capacity, pressure tanks, gravity flows, and worst case, back up generators to run their water supply?)

And then we've got the known terrorist activities happening here in California, the ELF attacks. For years, the Green terrorists struck only infrequenty, then all of the sudden a veritable wave of attacks. Only a coincidence that these attacks are happening at a time when insurgency is on the increase in Iraq, Korea is simmering, the PRC are starting to put up de facto tarriffs against foreign software, Iran are getting ready to go nuclear, and on top of all this we've had these blackouts. Is this the overture?
