MSNBC had an item on NEW rumblings about HRC running in 2004.. It was in conjunction with more on Wes Clark also getting serious about a run..Mentioned something about a 'high level mtg' that the OTHER Dem candidates were informed of.... Ickes has formed a 'soft money group' which could benefit HRC, and, again, some high level mtg about the possibility of her running. ..Nachman and Bill Press will be discussing this SOON on msnbc...tune in NOW.

We're hearing this more and more from reliable news sources. It's the Clintonian way to test the waters before making a commitment.

Be very afraid. Lets be realistic.
Even most of the stark raving morons who voted for her perverted husband wouldn't vote to put her in charge of national security in times like these.
I hope she runs, just to dipatch her once and for all.

Hi, Howlin. Could I trouble you to use the ping list if you think it's appropriate? I've lost mine since we had a computer crash.

Clark can't possibly win on his own -- but he'd give the Dems an answer for the "you hate the military, don't you?" angle... At least among the ill-informed.
I guess Hill' couldn't stomach the idea of having NOW endorse Carol Mostly-Gone.

Hillary's slamming of Bush during the power outs seemed pretty telling to want to be in the race. Getting Clark to run as her VP seems pretty transparent to the political junkies. I hope she runs so we can get this battle over with.

Dean2004=McCarthy1968; Hillary2004=BobbyKennedy1968, jumping in when the path has been cleared by others

She is such a divisive person and we Freepers have so much information on her. Starting with the terrorists her husband pardoned in order to garner the Puerto Rican vote in NYC. It stunk at the time but post 9/11, it will never fly with the soccer moms.

I'm not so sure. This is starting to remind me of a re-run of 1968, with Dean as Eugene McCarthy (showing some strength against the incumbent president) and then being outmaneuvered by Hillary as Robert Kennedy (who probably would have won over Nixon that year if he hadn't been assassinated).

What about 2003? I'm sure Hillary considers a bloody coup every day of the week to replace Geo. W. Bush. This news story falls in the "What Else Is New?" category.
But Her Heinous won't run unless the nomination is actually handed to her, 1) because she can't stand having opposition, and 2) because she doesn't feel like she needs to work to become President, it should just be handed to her.

You're right. If Hillary runs (I think this is just a trial balloon) it will turn out to be an overblown media fantasy like McCain's run in 2000. Just because the media believe she is interesting and viable as a candidate does not make it true. History will show that she is already passe...so pre-911.
To: swarthyguy
Clark will be running mate. Giving some military gravitas to her. Not that any freeper would be fooled by a move like that. Another possible running mate for Hillary is Braun.
To: Merovingian
I don't think Clark ever got in this to get the nomination, more likely to provide "defense gravitas" to the ultralib who gets the nomination. and what ultra lib anti-military candidate would need a general more than Hillary?
Press doesn't want to believe she's running bc he holds to the "truth" of Hillary. He doesn't want to admit publically that Hillary will run if the numbers look good, and maybe even if they don't.

"The ONLY way Hillary! will run run is if she KNOWS she has it in the bag. Be very afraid."
She will NEVER EVEr win an election for president. Elections are still decided by the fly over people, and there is no way they would allow another Clinton to occupy the Whitehouse. Plus once she is on a constant national forum , her Ya knows and UMMs will stand out like a sore thum. THere is a liberal contingency that beleives in her, but it is mostly the Oprah crowd and hollywood sector. I will stake my house on the fact that she would never win. PS the dirt that would be dug up would just be a reminder of the 8 years of BS we put with and no one wants to go back there

My prayers are answered. Hitlery running for President will make the race like shooting fish in a barrel for our side.I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Hillary were to be the Democratic nominee, the GOP could run Fidel Castro against her and win 46 states.
Bring it on, Thunder Calves!

I agree. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel. People who fear Hillary don't understand that she is unelectable in a national election. Too much is made of her senate "victory" in overwhelmingly liberal New York against an unknown, weak and ineffective candidate who was thrown up at the last minute after Rudy Guiliani dropped out. (Rudy would have clobbered her, BTW.)
How many states could Shrillary possibly carry? Seriously. She'd have trouble even here in Massachusetts.
I say, bring on the shrieking shrew of the Ozarks.
